    Nice pics!
W spent the last two days pilot carring for our logging equipment up to round valley over off 32 there's still snow. We are already on high alert for fire danger and haven't even started work. I am amazed at the years with the most snow and how fast it dries out. Mother nature sure is neat the way she works!

Our dozer was pushing piles apart near round valley yesterday. The were still smoldering. They had to put them out. Cal fire saying it’s fire season on the 20th

No snow. Just rain. Cold rain but rain. We have our work forecast for the next two weeks says 3-4 inches on our job. 2-3 in Chester proper. Not sure why but I think the ordering department should send it back.

    I
worked. Just to trucking. The roads are the bad areas and the water likes to run down into the creeks so we won't even drive in if it's running.

My neighbor has resumed driving for SPI, has been off the last few days because of the rain. Where I want to cut some Lodgepole snags still has snow since I cant get there, then it has to dry enough to where I won't get stuck.

I’m in Portola for the summer, out in the woods during the week, and in my truck over the weekend.

Still snow drifts all over the place, had to turn around on a few backroads this weekend. Some of our worksites are still snowed in as well.

Got about two inches of snow last night! All melted off by afternoon though.

It melted fast in Chester. Watched it from the cameras while I was warm here at home.

    This weekend keeps changing

About took my foot out while topping a maple tree that got loaded with snow this winter and developed too much of a lean, could see the ground cracked some where the roots were heaving a little, hoping to save the 25+ year old tree. Climbed up my ladder and had to use a small Stihl I had, realized the 6" thick tree in that area could easily barber chair right into my face, moved down the ladder another step, holding the saw over my head, should have made a wider undercut instead of just a cut to keep the tree from splintering. Wanted to cut the tree in a specific spot, so a small limb could let the tree continue growing up. When the top decided to fall instead of just leaning more which a decent undercut might have let the top go, broke off and slid down, hitting my leg above one knee and skinning my shin then below my knee, scrapping me about 6" and not pounding my foot into a ring on the ladder. Counted myself lucky after jumping around in pain a few seconds.

Wow, it's been a rough year. The North Complex Fire got about 3 miles to my house, was evacuated for a few weeks. Hope everyone is still doing good.

With everything being shut down I found some nice online resources for exploring.

Motor Vehicle Use maps provided by the National Forest Service, looks like this page covers all the current maps for California.
    https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/plumas/maps-pubs/?cid=fseprd637332

This is the page that has all of the FS topo maps, shows you literally everything out there. Zoom into your area and click the desired square that you want to explore and it will give the option to download a PDF or GeoTiff.

I’m not from the area but...I drove from Redding on highway 44 to 36 to Susanville. Then from 36 to Chico.

I passed through Susanville, Lake Almanor, Shingletown, and Chester. My first time seeing Lassen’s beauty.

The folks are so awesome, nice and family oriented. It’s like I’m in a whole different state with all the beautiful landscape.

I can’t wait to explore further for leisure instead of work.

I know some spots to go that would make you never want to leave the area. The views from someof the roads close by can just take your breath away.
