    Exactly. Hence the thought of using the parking lights as well.

    Do you use the ebrake regularly? You could put another switch that closes then the ebrake is off as well.

    Lots of options to consider.

    Never underestimate the perseverance and inventiveness of a thief. I like the idea of having it hidden in plain sight but you don't want them randomly hitting switches and accidentally getting the right one so I would make it a two step process (like hold down momentary (a) then flip toggle (b)). It would also be cool to disguise the fact there is a kill switch by only disabling fuel and ignition so it cranks but won't start. Or even better, put fuel and ignition on a timer so it will fire but immediately die. Hopefully that way they will just give up on your truck as a piece of shit and never even suspect

    All good ideas. As complexity increases....reliability decreases.

    I'm a subscriber to the KISS principle.

    Remember, the object is to make my truck more difficult to steal. This makes someone else's truck more attractive.

    @Larzzzz No, I don't use the e-brake often. I've got the foot stomp version.

    Someone told me he put a pressure switch behind the dash so you have to push on the dash to trigger the switch to start it. In plain sight but hidden. Good as long as you don’t have dirty hands like me.

    i doubt it would draw any more than the ECU does in stand by. It would be something simple like a 555 timer and a one shot to a latching relay

    In order for a thief to defeat the factory immobilizer, he’s going to have to plug into the OBD2 connector and do some hocus pocus. If you’re that concerned about deterring a professional thief, how about just removing the OBD fuse?

    Just found the answer to Question #1. Both the AutoLSD and DAC switches are simple On/Off switches. Either of these would be good for my intentions. The brake light can supply power to the "DAC" switch, brake line power is available in the engine bay from the Rely box. The DAC would close the relay contacts to provide power to the control side of the start relay. Then turn the ignition key to start. All wiring looks to be available in the Engine Room Relay box on the left fender.

    Start sequence to the driver is simple. Step on brake, push DAC button, turn ignition key. 3 steps to start.

    Now, need to visit Toyota to order a DAC or AutoLSD switch and get a 30/40A relay/socket from some source.......Amazon, Autozone, Advance, NAPA.......

    Thanks guys for the ideas and discussion.

    Got any empty relay sockets in the engine room fuse box? Talk about complete camouflage.

    @6 gearT444E good point. I didn't think of a latching relay.:thumbsup:
