2014 Green Tacoma 4W Extended Cab
Hi everyone. I just got a 2014 Tacoma 4.0 4w Sport extra cab. I don't know how it all got passed me, but i ran into trouble from the start! Right now, i'm waiting for a new AC compressor clutch kit, because the one there it shot. That's secondary though compared to the electrical problem i've run into! When i first drove that 20 miles home from the used car dealer (with a really bad reputation!) i noticed thje tire pressure dash light was on. When i got here, i checked the tires and everything looked fine (crappy tires too!) Anyway, i had it here for around a week, when one day i drove down to check my mail. When i got to the mailbox, i tried to set the window down, but found oyut the power window(s) weren't working. Then i noticed the trac das light was on. I drove it back up the driveway, and pulled up to the garage. Almost ALL the lights on the dash had come on! To make a long story short, i got it back to them. I drove the whole way on battery power! They replaced the alternator (their idea), and now, with them doing nothing after that, i brought it home, with a friends trailer, and it's sitting out back now with 4 dash light on. The ABS, the brake!, the trac "slipping" light, and the tire pressure light on. The power windows don't work, the blower motor doesnt work, the AC button doesn't come on, and the battery will go dead overnight with the battery connected. Obviously something's draining it, but i can't find it. However, the cable from the alt terminal to the engine compartment fuse box to the positive battery terminal was/is constantly hot even with the key out i the battery is connected! I'm sorry this explaination was so long, but i just had to get it off my shoulders guys! ha, ha! Anybody have any ideas? I'd be eternally grateful for any ideas! I really got screwed, and would like to get it right. I was a mechanic, but that was back in the 70's-80's! Thanks!

    First, welcome to The Forum!

Second, this is a bummer. I hope you get it all sorted out. I have a feeling that most of the issues are related because many occurred around the same time.

I would start by charging the battery and confirming the alternator/charging system is working.
