Auto high beams on the 2018+ are pretty nice.

The TSS technology is mostly transparent. I would not let that deter you from buying a 2018+ truck. There is a TON of technology in the Tacoma, so excluding just one small portion of it (TSS) is really silly. The other suggestion - don't believe everything you read on TW.

Hmm, maybe offer the OFF ROAD with out TSS as part of the TRD OR package.

It would cost more to get less, but the OR is already going to cost more than a SR-5, or SR.

Probably the least intrusive part of TSS, but that headlight stalk isn't that difficult to operate.

All Uber and Lyft vehicles should come with auto highs.

Sorry forgot to say December 2020 for the mods, hence why I'm more interested in getting a CPO if I go with the 2017. I'm finishing up another vehicle and as I mention before the Tacoma will be my daily driver. Thanks

I personally like having adaptive cruise when on the highway. Never thought I would, but it's handy in construction zones, 2 Lane highways w limited passing, etc...

Have you been able to drive one w TSS? If not, you should. It's definitely not the hindrance you're imagining.
With that being said, I can't speak for the tech Package equipped trucks. I avoided those myself.

Thanks. As a mention before never owen a Tacoma, driven a few before, my knowledge is limited on this vehicle. But I do know that compare to other brands of vehicles this is a solid candidate with a great reputation for my needs.

Chances are if you are the type of person who actually enjoys to drive, you will absolutely hate TSS, adaptive cruise control and all.

Still, I’d go new. The price difference, especially once you pay for shipping, and the wider selection, make it the natural choice. You can always mitigate the impact TSS has in your daily driving.

    Good luck.

No, I haven't. Will do this week.
I keen to learn more about why you would avoid them? I would to but I like hearing others points of view.

Adaptive cruise is probably better than standard. Maybe I'm a high strung lunatic, but I need to stay active behind the wheel.

Have you noticed the majority of motorist pull out their phones the moment they don't need to pay attention to traffic?

BSM was simply the availability of compatible aftermarket bumpers.

I have. As an avid cyclist and former motorcyclist, it infuriates me. I honestly spend very little time riding on paved roads anymore because of it.
With the above being said, when uses responsibly, it's a very convenient feature to have.

I hate adaptive cruise control for that very same reason.

Nothing drives me bonkers like a string of vehicles blocking the passing lane because they are all on “adaptive cruise control”, dreaming about anything but the fact that they are at the wheel.

I am, but i have other vehicles that allow me to really enjoy the road. My truck is more a tool that allows me to access the enjoyable benefits of its capabilities.

When I was looking for my truck, I talked to the local dealers, but they couldn't make it happen. I hopped on Autotrader and found 5 trucks in the USA that fit my criteria. I flew to the closest one, signed the paperwork and drove it home. Shipping vs fly n drive might be an option.

The off-road does already have a ton of computers and electronic stuff in it - just try and fishtail the back end in the rain and you'll see. Sadly, computerized traction control is far superior to what a human can do with a clutch, brake, and throttle. Doesn't mean we can't try though! Adding TSS is meh, although getting warranty support after a lift or changing the grill could be a problem.

34k for a '17 with 7k miles, could be a decent deal. I didn't catch if that was with the tech / premium or not.

Nah, they will speed up as soon as you try and pass them.
