Buy a Pro now or wait for 2020?

i don’t yet own a Taco but I plan to buy a 2019 TRD Pro or OR DCSB or wait for 2020.

From what I’ve seen the reason to wait for 2020 is the 360 trail camera whatever Toyota is calling that feature and possible color army green.

I’m 6’2 and the power seat doesn’t matter to me. A power headroom adjustment would be nice though.

I was offered a TRD Pro in voodoo blue for 46,300 out the door. It seemed a good deal and the color is growing on me but I could pull the trigger.

Is the 2020 worth waiting for ? I need a vehicle now because my ride is 12 but I could suffer through 3-4 months with my 12 year old ride if it make sense.

    Thoughts / Recommendations?

I'm waiting for the 2020. I don't care too much for the power seat feature, but really want the android auto. I had that on my 2017 accord hybrid and miss it as it isn't on my current vehicle. I'm also hoping the LED lights will be a worthwhile upgrade over the current ones.
If you can wait, it may be worthwhile. My current vehicle is only 2yo so i'm in no real rush. However, you probably won't see the type of deals you're currently seeing on the 2019 near model year end.

Make sure you test drive a taco with a sunroof. They reduce the headroom by a couple of inches. At 6'2 that may be annoying. I think the sunroof is standard on the Pro.

Don’t purchase anything until 2020’s are sitting on dealer lots around September/October. Compare a 2019 Pro to a 2020 in person and then make a decision.

I don’t care for power seats, and actually prefer manual. But that height adjustment would be nice to get some better head room. I would wait it out, unless you need to buy a truck now.

    Wait

You can try out the new features on the 2020. But if you don’t like it you can get a 2019 at a discount.

Like it's been said,I'm waiting for the 2020's. The new features are enough to make me wait. My thinking is..If I can't get behind the new price,or I find I don't like it for whatever reason, the 19's will be discounted enough to get people to buy them. It's worth the wait regardless.

Normally when the new M.Y. comes out in Sept, they drop the price of the old M.Y. in order to create a price differential to move the old ones off the lot ASAP. However in 2020 a price differential will likely be created, not by lowering the price of unsold 2019s, but by increasing the price of the 2020s with added content such as 360* cameras, chassis camera, power seats, upgraded head unit, etc.

The above, and 1.99% financing are the reasons that I bought now instead of waiting for the 2020s to come out. That and the fact that I am not interested in Autoplay, cameras, etc.

I know they sell every Tacoma they build and that includes the PRO. Just not sure how much of a price increase we will see.

The infotainment unit is different. Okay. But whether it's Entune or CarPlay the truck has to have something.

The headlights are different. Okay. It has to have headlights though and the new units can't cost that much more.

Cameras and an adjustable seat? Okay.

I'll be curious to see how much they jack up the price on this 2020 refresh.
