Don't know what I should do with '06 Tacoma Access Cab V6 with toasted A750E Trans. Anyone dealt with a good Remann Company theyd recommend?
Tacoma has about 150K miles. Is it worth putting a trans in it? Try to sell it as is while it's still sort of driveable?
Are most vehicles now using "sealed trans." ? Total PITA

How much is the reman tranny from that place vs the OEM remanufactured tranny. I know that the OEM remanufactured one runs around $3200

What’s wrong with you’re current trans? Might this be something that might be fixed by dropping and cleaning the pan, changing the filter and complete fluid change?

Alealexi, Toy4me Thanks for replies. Tried dropping pan, installed new filter, replace fluid multiple times + additive. It was better for awhile but still shuddered 3rd t 4th (35MPH) Drove it a lot in 4 only shifting to Drive when above 50 MPH. That worked well but recently started hard lurch FWD or Reverse and engine revs at 3500 rpm going 60 mph. Pretty sure fluid is burnt after 6 hour drive home a week ago. Xtreme Performance price is $2,400. ($500 core chg.) Their web site mentions all the well known problems with the A750E trans and claims reman addresses those problems. Who knows? When I took it to a shop a year ago they said couldn't duplicate the problem so that was a waste of $100! I don't know how I can find anyone to install a trans for a reasonable price in Seattle area. Seems like $5K is the std answer to any trans problems around here! (Cars & Trucks that is Ha ha) Mite see if my Bro in laws Son has the skills to change out a tranny. I don't think I could do it w/o a lot of help.

Not sure about most, but the VW TDI I had, the HHR, and the Tacoma all have no dipstick. Not sure if I'd call them sealed because they all have what I call a special procedure for checking the trans fluid and the HHR and Tacoma have a time and mileage spec for changing the trans fluid. The VW had what they called lifetime trans fluid, but in reality, it meant it was good until failed. The VW and Tacoma procedure have very similar methods for checking trans fluid levels so when I bought my Tacoma I was already familiar with the procedure.
