Here is a 22 manual sport with 7800 miles,it’s what I want but it’s the cost of a new one.Problem is can’t find a new one other than a new black sport at the same price .I dont want black.Like most dealers they all seem a little shady.Said it was bought at auction with no issues, will take to local toyota dealer for inspection per my request but the toyota dealer is owned by same company.
Opinions or wait it out and hope a new one pops up or a nicely modified one from a fourm member.

Honestly I'd walk away for the hit on resale alone being that you would be the third owner on paper.

    Buy it.

If its exactly what you want, what does the price matter. AC/manual are hard to come by unless you like waiting and even then.

Hell, if it was an option for me, i wouldve got an ac/manwell.

I don't see much wrong with getting what you want and paying a bit a more. Or it being slightly used (7800mi aint shit) vs new. My credit union would give you a new car rate on it anyway.

Your call really. If you understand you're paying a premium to get what you want now instead of rolling the dice and waiting, there is nothing wrong with that. From a strictly financial point of view however it's still a used vehicle regardless of it only having 7,800 miles. Besides taking the hit as soon as you sign, I'd wonder why a vehicle that's 1 model year old with low mileage got traded in. Oh, and I'd take it to a trustworthy independent shop to get checked out before I took it to a dealership in the same group as the one you'd be buying it from.

If you want it, buy it. Especially if your plan is to hold on to it for a long time.

There used to be a Dealer Allocation spreadsheet on this site somewhere. In that spreadsheet, you could look up various configurations and see what was coming down the pipe. The truck you want may not be allocated to a dealer near you, and just because a typical truck is being built, doesn't mean you'll be able to get your hands on it.

I needed a new (to me, at least) vehicle in the fall on 2021. I knew I wanted a truck. It could not be black, white, grey, or silver. It had to be Orange. I knew I was buying used, and it took a while for me to find one, but I got lucky. Had my old ride not failed when it did, I am certain I would not have found what I ended up with.

Did I overpay? That is in the eye of the beholder. If you want this truck, then buy this truck.

seems high, especially with that crazy $899 "processing" fee, that's what you get after you are already overpaying?? Says a lot about them.
An inspection from the same dealer network doesn't count,,, needs to be someone of your choice for it to count.

    I’d buy the black one.
Don’t really like black trucks either. But I have one

Wait for a new one and skip the black one too. Black shows EVERYTHING: Dirt, dust, swirls, scratches, rust, everything. I've had over fifty vehicles over the years and just one black one for that reason.

i would get a new one. i just plunked down $500 bucks to hold a white 2023 coming in on a truck. i was told a 2-3 week wait. my sticker price is $200 dollars higher than your sticker price.

The bought at an auction doesn’t surprise me, with interest rates the way they are, people are buying what they can not afford and cars and trucks are being repossessed at an all time high. The truck is probably more than fine, owner just couldn’t afford her.
If it were my money I would pass, be patient, broaden my search or order new and wait for as long as it takes.

If you are a 10 year keeper (minimum) or longer, the price and year model diminish in importance along with the resale value. While it may be a bit high today, 10-15 years out that won't matter anymore. Your TCO lowers each year of good service you use the vehicle.

If you follow shiny things every 2-3 years, you're probably better buying new.

Assumptions: If you're trading something, you have lots of equity, not upside down. You are paying cash, or have good credit and can get a decent rate and are willing to take a short term or stack up payments to create interest savings. If you look at an amortization chart for the typical loan/loan term you may be shocked how much interest adds to the non recoverable price of the vehicle.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Make sure you are not planning on having a kid anytime you own that AC. I had an 07 AC purchased new with the manual then my wife was like. Surprise, WE are pregnant! And I was like, I didn't even know WE wanted to be pregnant! I thought WE were on birth control!! And my AC was for sale the next day.

Processing $899. That’s pure profit for them, I am not too keen on auction cars. They are there for a reason. Could be repo or problem. It’s your decision. If you still have general warranty maybe have them knock off the “processing fee” and go for it.

I agree,i just dont have a good gut feeling. Not so much the price, just the unknown and feeling.
    I appreciate the advice!
I also found a mint silver one, everything seems 100 good to go with an individual but it’s just not the right color.
I’m paying cash that I have saved for 8 years while driving a 2000 4runner.Ill just wait it out.

Maryland & Florida are known for high dealer fees, if you don't like it buy from a state that is capped such as Texas ($150). I don't like that it doesn't have LED's but that is my personal preference. On CarGurus there are only 6 in the entire nation classified at AC6MT (this one not being one of them for some reason, maybe they don't advertise there). The one you're looking at is actually the best deal taking into account the processing fee even. There is one in Colorado Springs for $41,988 that is a Sport (skewp!), plus a $526 dealer fee and shipping and you're $2,000 more than that one.

I suggest trying to find a new one with the chances of one not coming in before 4G happens being a real issue.

Edit: Found a new one inbound to Town & Country Toyota in Charlotte. Says sale pending though and has mandatory $1,995 lifetime warranty and $899 dealer fee. Priced at $44,481 after all those fees.
