How old is yours? How does it interface with the lock mechanism?

    Edit: I see, bent tabs.

Yes for better leverage of engaging and disengaging the lock

Installed mine yesterday. Started doing a video of the install, then screwed it up a few times, got frustrated and stopped videoing. Wife was rotating the tires on her Jeep behind me and I kept hearing, "Are you talking to me?" as I was narrating the video.

Happy to announce that the rod you attach to the actuator is long enough that when you fuck it up and have to toss your initial attempt, you can take the remainder and bend it into a hook through the actuator and still make it work.

I got mine installed on Saturday. I used a piece of thick weatherstripping foam between the actuator and the tailgate. i did the "ring" method and soldered on the ring. That was the most difficult part - wiring was a breeze. Worst part was dealing with the oil undercoating that i spray on before every winter. Took about 2 hours. Thanks Katie!

Got it installed today. Took about 2-2.5 hours. Took me a minute to figure out how to mount the actuator but once I got that everything else went smooth.

Wonder where I am on the list lol. I sent when the list was at around 200. Toyota should seriously start thinking you are on to something here ha. No rush from me over here, just broke my collar bone so will be laying low for a bit.

Yeah she’s great, but no need to bother. She’s probably super busy.
