Those little metal ones are pretty nifty, used them on my inner tie rod boots after I wrecked the oem clamps trying to get them off.

They're a bitch to remove though if you get them real tight

Oh this keeps getting better. I left them a not so stellar review on their website yesterday and guess what.... It magically disappeared. Lol. Screenshot_20210611-230422.jpg

That's why I NEVER trust the reviews on their own website. Basically I just assume that all the reviews were written by employees.

I don't work for these guys but the minute someone sends threats of this and that they go to the bottom of the customer service pool. I'm talking to the reasonable people first.

What threats? I mean, granted, I'm taking the OP at their word that the only "threats" were filing complaints with various consumer protection agencies after repeatedly being unable to communicate with them about basic customer service issues. Seems a valid thing to "threaten".

But yeah, I'd agree that if it's gotten to the point of the customer feeling the need to file a complaint with the BBB or whoever, you've already failed at your job and might as well toss the complaint to the bottom of the ever increasing pile of unaddressed complaints.

First off I will say that I work with machines and not the customer side, for good reason.

But typically people complain about leadtimes and threaten to reverse their credit card charge to which we refund them and fire them as a customer.

This just reminds me of the scene in Office Space where Tom Symkowski is saying he deals with the (goddamn) customers so the engineers don't have to.

    Anyhoo...

Yes, customers can be unreasonable, and having managed a bike shop for several years, I've had a few outrageous ones. It's also been my experience that the vast majority of those Karen customers making unreasonable threats never follow up on those threats. I've had a few that were demanding all sorts of free stuff, sometimes for an honest mistake, other times because of something fabricated. Either way, I've heard the "I'm taking this to the chancellor" (I worked on a college campus) more than once. I would usually offer to get his phone number for them. Not once did I get a phone call from Chancellor Whatshisname.

So if you're generally doing right by the customer and doing the best job you can, you have nothing to legitimately fear from these Karens. But if you're consistently getting complaints about, say, lead times, maybe it's a sign you need to adjust how you estimate these lead times.

Read the original post, dude. I only finally made "threats" after being ignored repeatedly when courteously reaching out for help. Context is everything.

For the record, this is why I consider it generally a good idea to use Paypal for someone you've never bought from before. They sort of offer another layer of protection beyond just your credit card company. It's even stronger if you couple it with an eBay purchase.
