41977865-EDE9-4E73-BC37-D366ECE442D8.jpg Got the package today, installed it in about 30 minutes or so. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without having read this thread. I had to use more than one trick I’ve read on here. I had to bend both mounts, and the crappy snap bolt fell apart so I use a rivet nutD61ECAAD-8481-4447-8788-07204854F6A3.jpg that I got with this fine piece of metalE35615D8-5496-419E-ABA7-32CD66658D71.jpgthank you meso for being meso

the fit and finish is poorA81C7BF5-ECFC-4C4A-8F11-F5B97FCCAA6F.jpgyou can’t really tell here though

It’s done. Definitely keeping the original pieces around.

edit. I forgot the best part is when I closed the door and opened it again, the cover flopped off, I think someone on here said something about this already

Nice. Did you install the overhead with the spacers?

Yeah. I started with just the short bolts, I got a handle retention kit so I got a few extra bolts, in 2 opposite corners, no helping hands. Easy enough but reaching up like that and wrenching is a beast.

My handle only came with these:

    IMG_2FA6057D16B0-1.jpg
    Are these the collar spacers?

Any chance you'd be willing to send me your extra hardware?

Edit: Or if anyone can tell me the specs on the bolts and washers maybe I could piece it together at the hardware store.

Sorry this happened to all of you, but the humor in this thread is awesome. Had me laughing quite a bit.

For the Calvin stickers, perhaps add "Point-N-Pee" to it? Mock of Plug-N-Play.

I believe that one of the reasons the fit is poor on the lower part of the handle is that you used a rivnut instead of a "J" nut. The "J" nut clip would give you more latitude. (Of course this is too late for you, but others might profit from the experience.)

So, how many are signing up for the HUD preorder? Because, you know, for the community.

Not buying unless it is for the passenger side and doesn't show the speed.

50/50 chance that’s what you’d get. In this case the “community” being nosy passengers.

Threadjack to the Meso goodness. Looks like you installed yours opposite of how I did mine. I noticed they are asymmetric and thought I got it oriented correctly. Need to go check now.

I’m so happy with my handle. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. Since I went on the KTJO website and all throughout the order process they have been nothing but honest. Was told about long lead times with preorders. Was told the shipments would come in two separate packages. Received an email describing the situation. Received all shipping info and tracking numbers. Received all parts and hardware. Everything fit perfectly. No cutting, trimming, or bending of any sort. Hope others have a good experience as well! It was definitely worth it for me. Nobody else makes this handle, so I honestly didn’t mind waiting for something I really wanted.

Hey Benny...yeah, the cover flops. I believe by design. As some have stated, you can store a couple of Altoids or chapstick in there. Personally, I leave mine hanging as a safety measure. When I exceed about 55mph with the windows down, it starts fluttering in the wind acting as a speed alarm. You should hear that bastard slapping the pillar 600 times a minute. It's probably saved me no less than 17 speeding tickets. I can't believe Meso didn't come up with this idea first...
