The last vehicle I financed came with a sunroof, part of the Pkg I opted for. I would prefer not to have the sunroof.

Well I appreciate everyone’s feedback. My whole point here is that something this new and well maintained shouldn’t have a problem like this. This is something that I never would have expected to happen to a Toyota Tacoma and to be treated like a jerk by both the dealership and it’s customer service support. This is my first brand new car that I have ever owned. I have owned several Toyotas before and they were having issues before. I had an 86 pick up truck to a door and ran like a champ until the carburetor went out. I had a 2007 four runner and I bought used and ran great no problems. Then I drove a 2010 Tacoma prerunner and drove great. I trated it for this new truck, and let me tell you, the paint is what I consider to be low grade. It scratches so easily. Not to mention the windshield. These new trucks have a cheap ass windshield. Any small rock that hits it, will chip it. The second week I had it, a rock hits it on the freeway and before you know it, I have a new windshield. Even the replacement is just as cheap. I know that I’m not the only with these issues from a 3rd generation truck.

You don't need to replace an entire sunroof for a gasket. Ive had many sunroofs and they mainly leak due to gaskets, the need for an adjustment or a clogged or dislodged drain tube. Although you may get rained on again, I would go to another dealer. Can u post a pic?

We just went through about three weeks of rain here in FL. No leaks so far.

Offering you 60% on the cost doesn’t sound like a jerk move to me honestly. It’s unfortunate you’ve had several issues, many others have as well, myself included. I don’t know of a manufacturer that doesn’t have issues. Things happen sometimes, others will have no issues. I hope you get it all worked out.

Yup, I know all about the drains getting plugged. In my case they froze down at the bottom, and when a little bit of sun poked out and melted some snow on the roof the whole tray filled up and came sloshing in through the headliner.

That was my previous car, and my last with a sunroof.

Well like I said before, make sure that if you have a sunroof in your new Tacoma, keep checking it before your warranty expires. And if you suspect any issues. Have them change it. Demand it!

Not trying to discourage you because having any problem sucks.
However, they sell 20,000+ Tacomas every month. Most people with problems post about them. Sure, there have problems with paint, windshield and sunroof, but not many. Good luck and take the 60%!

Maybe all aftermarket ones leak, I have never had any issues with Factory Sunroofs.
