Hello everyone, I bought a 2014 DCSB with "Premium" audio off a dealers lot recently and loved everything except my radio quality... I assumed (and was told by salesman) that I was buying the JBL premium audio system... After some research I noticed that there are slight differences to descriptions but huge differences in equipment!!! Both are labeled as "premium" but only one has JBL speakers, subwoofer and amp! Here are the descriptions from Toyota's E-Brochure and you see for yourself.

Entune™ Premium Audio with Navigation8 and App Suite9
    — includes the Entune™2
    Multimedia Bundle (6.1-in. high-resolution
touch-screen with split-screen display, AM/FM CD player, six speakers, auxiliary audio jack, USB 2.0 port with iPod® connectivity
and control, advanced voice recognition, hands-free phone capability, phone book access and music streaming via Bluetooth® wireless technology), HD Radio™, HD predictive traffic and Doppler weather overlay, AM/FM cache radio, SiriusXM Radio with 90-day All Access trial, and Gracenote® album cover art

    Entune™ Premium JBL® Audio with Navigation8 and App Suite9
    — includes the Entune™2
    Multimedia Bundle (6.1-in. high- resolution
touch-screen with split-screen display, AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA playback capability, JBL® speakers including subwoofer, auxiliary audio jack, USB 2.0 port3 with iPod® connectivity and control, advanced voice recognition, hands-free phone capability, phone book access and music streaming via Bluetooth® wireless technology), HD Radio™, HD predictive traffic and Doppler weather overlay, AM/FM cache radio, SiriusXM Radio7 with 90-day All Access trial, and Gracenote® album cover art

x2... you'll just end up replacing the JBL's like I'm planning on doing.

The JBL speakers aren't bad at all if you just want an upgraded sound for everyday use. If you play your music ridiculously loud then they suck.

I'm not an overly picky person when it comes to audio but this system doesn't sound good by any stretch... I will end up upgrading in the future (after my lift) haha Should of bought the Limited, ohhh heated seats would be nice right now!

I will say the front six speakers sound good but the sub is weak. I am definitely replacing the amp and sub soon since they are underpowered compared to other Toyotas with JBL.

Are you replacing the HU too?

no plan to currently. Was going to see how a JL cleansweep or something of the sort worked for me with the stock HU and aftermarket amps/speakers. Also was thinking about putting a separate EQ in there too to help with the HU deficiencies when it comes to frequency tuning.

If you're thinking of adding a JL Clean Sweep and a seperate EQ, check out AudioControl's stuff. Some of their units have built in EQs (only the ones in the bottom table on that page I linked). I've never used one with a built in EQ so I can't say how good or bad they are, but it might save you some money and space.

Yeah I was looking at those with the eq on it but it doesn't seem conducive to changing eq settings on the fly. I listen to a wide range of styles of music and it ranges from professionally produced to self/home produced so I wanted something that easy to adjust on the fly.
