No tow package on the four cylinder. Seems unusual not to offer that as it still can pull 3500lbs and the hitch is useful.

I think the factory spare steel wheels look better than the styled steel wheels.

I've had my 2016 all of 2 weeks now. So far? Unimpressed. To be fair, a lot of it has to do with dealer prep ect. but so far I've dealt with tiny scratches in the headlight lenses, damage to the "inside" of the glove box from removing adhesive from airbag warning stickers that were supposed to be removed by the owner/buyer only and what appears to be shit quality plastic used on the dash and door panels, ex. shows EVERY imperfection and scuff mark. Mechanically the truck seems fine. I like the way it drives and handles. As others have stated, drivers seat seems very low to the floor for me anyway. The lack of an adjustable seat is poor in this day and age, particularly with all the other bells and whistles this truck has. My 2012 was perfect in every way. The 2016, not even close. In my eyes, the whole Toyota Fit and Finish has been badly compromised. For $39,000 it should be better.

That is my only remorse. Rectified that mistake in 1999 and I am about to trade in the 1999 on a 2016 in a couple of days...

Did you test drive the truck before buying, or were you forced to trade in your 2012 at gunpoint for a 2016. Just trying to figure out why you took the plunge on a '16!

I'm guessing this whole thread is a big failure because it didn't draw the ire the OP intended.

BTW, my build date is tomorrow.

Tiny scratches in the headlight lens? Come on man.

No. I did not test drive it because I ordered it. I got a good deal on the 16' and a fair price for my trade. So I took the deal. This is my 9th NEW Tacoma. Paid cash for every one of them. As far as the scratches on the headlights and marks inside the glovebox? Well, I suppose to each his own. It may seem trivial to some, but to me its not. I have always bought Toyota because of their impeccable fit and finish. While many may not want to hear it, I just don't see it in my 16 compared to my 12. Just my opinion. Obviously there are much stronger feelings here, lol. Just stating an opinion.

I'll revisit this post when I have to change the spark plugs on the driver's side, or if the serpentine belt bearing on the lower driver's side blocked by the oil cooler needs replacement in a few years from now :/
But it's looking great so far...

I have zero regrets, I had a F250 with 6'' lift & 35'' mud tires and that thing was a beast and I knew I don't need nothing that big again. Living in Japan I saw all the Japanese guys rocking the HILUX and I know I always wanted one, so my TRDOR with the crawl control is the closest thing. I used mostly to get to isolated beaches or trails for camping, surfing and fishing with lots off soft sand. So that's why I got my crawl control, plus for another $3,000 why not get the most bang for my buck. I don't understand why guys spent premium money for the TECH/Audio package, it's a truck , who needs all the speakers and DVD players but hey it's there money, whereas I don't care for all that audio BS so instead of that option I opted for the Offroad package.

    Zero regrets!

I didn't find the "door chime" to be that impressive. That thing...drives...me...CRAZY! Why do I need to know the door is open? I like to leave the door open and listen to the radio while I am working in the field. At least I used to...with other vehicles.

Still happy I made the jump. Its a great improvement over my 2005 Pre-Runner. Are there little things that annoy me... sure. I've addressed issues (hood vibrating) as I can. But overall no regrets I'd still purchase another one. Its a capable, great looking Tacoma.

I still never gave up my 2nd Gen Tacoma, just left it with my pops, he needed a truck my gen 2 was just hitting its stride at 130k miles. So she still lives on and provides reliable transportation and hauling.

Coming from a 2003 Tundra, and a 2007 Lexus ES350, with a 1995 4Runner in my past, my first experience with the 2016 Tacoma Limited has been very positive. If I had to complain about something it would be the drivers seat is too narrow, (5'8" 160lbs) and sure I would like a little more adjustment in the steering wheel, but it is perfectly comfortable where it is, so maybe it doesn't.
Picked it up in October, have 11,500 miles on it now and it has been flawless. Zero mechanical issues at all. BSM, radio, connectivity, engine, transmission, 4 wheel drive have always worked perfectly. Mine was delivered with michelins, great tires. Not an off-roader, but some of my fishing/hunting spots require 4wheel drive. All the other complaints, noise, hood, leaking etc.. I haven't experienced. Put me in the no regrets camp...

I've had remorse that I didn't get a Tundra since the dealer let me use one as a loaner. But the Tacoma is the right size and has every bell and whistle to keep my happy with it. I just wish it had Tundra seats! I'm getting more used to them though.

Glad to hear it works for you. I still wish they were more permissive regarding adjustments while driving. It would be nice to have the front passenger key in destinations while driving. I've often thought Toyota could allow this if the car sensed a passenger in the right seat.
