My 00 tundra was perfect, ohio res. It came from Indiana, so another rust belt home... The frame was clean but the under bed rotted

I love it still :) Had it for 3 days now, traded a 2015 Kia Optima EX for it since my Optima drove like shit in the snow here in Maine. Just little things bother me now: I wish that the Entune radio was more customizable and didn't need to have 2 boxes or 3 boxes for my home screen with limited selections...the speakers could be better, they seem really low...the songs and artists in the radio doesnt scroll so i can see the entire names of songs and bands that are playing...wish i could get rid of the weather and nav functions since neither of them even work unless you have the premium entune radio...and shift issues where my truck would stay in 4th gear at over 60mph.

Like I said, just little things that aren't bad. I wonder if I can put a 3rd party nav system in my truck yet or if I have to wait until they have something for the 2017's.

I love the Tacoma, but the powertrain and mpg's just don't sit right with me. I expected to get close to estimates on mpg, but in reality no where close. Not even bone stock.

I've owned a lot of trucks in my life- starting with an 80's Hilux as my first, a J-10, Dodge 1500, Ford F-250, Chevy Cheyenne, then most recently a 98 Dodge 2500 diesel 5spd.. Out of all of the trucks I'll admit the Tacoma is more fun, but the range on a tank of gas is just too little for the places I go. I basically lost 80 miles of range when you account for the discrepancy of stated mileage to actual. Since my passion is bird hunting, I have dog kennels in the back, so carrying spare fuel back there is no go. Adding more weight (and expense) with a swing out or external mounted fuel carrier is too much. It's not worth it and I could frankly use a larger bed.

Going back to a full size, which ironically get better mileage (but obviously less off-road capability). Too bad.

No....Can't be true.....All 3 Gen's are pieces of shit.....From reading on this forum you are led to believe they have wheels falling off, engines catching on fire, etc.

Tundra crew is much nicer riding. loved my 15 tss I had before I traded for the 16 Tacoma. The Tacoma didn't work and now I am in a 16 diesel Colorado 9 months now and 23500 miles on it and no issues. Tacoma was most fun though wish the seats would of not killed my back. I got 15 mpg on the tundra mixed. Only bad thing about the tundra. eats fuel bad.

When I was at the chevy dealer this summer I noticed a guy trading in his 3rd gen, the appraisal was being conducted on his tacoma while he test drove the colorado he wanted again. Next thing you know I look across the used lot and see 2 more third gens sitting with for sale signs in the window. Toyota dealer was RIGHT across the street. Had a good laugh about that.
