One disappointing thing about the Tacoma is the inability to do much of anything with settings or navigation unless the vehicle is stopped. This is especially frustrating because the voice command programming is miserable. This isn't unique to Toyota, but others (e.g., BMW, Porsche) are more permissive.

False I have run 93 octane for multiple tanks just to test that theory and it makes no difference to mpg or performance. Only to the wallet.

89/93 same thing. Tankers only carry a small amount of 93..gas stations dont sell alot of it.. When there pumping 89 in to the ground and it gets full guess what they do to empty the rest?? They pull out the hoes and go stright to the 93 tank to top it off.

89 octane/mid grade is best option.

Actually 89 is a mix of 87 and 93. So yeah. I don't know where you got your information from... they don't pump 89 from the truck into the well, just 93 and 87.

Lets all face it, if I was running 104 in this truck the ECU and soft throttle programming would still be an issue.

    Hey, something we agree on...
You must be thinking of the old way cheap refineries once made 89, when they would switch the output from 89 to 91, the left over would be 89. They can draw several grades at a time now and the will never put 89 in the 91 tank. That would be fraud

The only remorse I have that I keep thinking about is not getting the 4x4 OR. Even though I don't live where it snows and will only take it to the desert here in CA and will probably not need to use it.

But I still keep thinking about it.

"Now here’s what’s interesting…most gas stations only have two octane storage tanks: 87 and 93. So when someone fills-up with 89 octane, the pump creates a blend from its storage tanks. The ratio is roughly 70% of 87 and 30% of 93"

I was wrong....... You were right my friend.

No buyers remorse here. But as far as the title goes:
I Didn't Find Power Delivery To Be That Impressive. Of course, it doesn't have to be for what it is. It's been called "adequate but not abundant", and I'd agree with that statement. This probably wouldn't be a problem if I didn't come from a 5.7L Tundra though . In all reality, I just need to find myself a cheapish muscle car on the side and I'll be perfectly happy. Though I'll always wish Toyota would have made it an option to put the 4.6L V8 from the Tundra in there. But fuel economy... Though maybe with the added power it would at least stay in 6th on the highway.
