no remorse, I would have paid more, not much more but....yes I am one of those people that purchase at msrp or close to it. However seriously, Toyota needs to consider more options for the offroad enthusiast. larger tires different size engines (get rid of the 4 already), and 2-3 options on suspension lifts.

They already do have several suspension options! TRD OR, TRD Sport and other trim packages all have different suspensions. I just don't think it would be wise for Toyota to start offering things like multiple lift options, different tire size options, etc. For most of the people out there stock form is just fine, and it's only a small percentage of the overall owners that do those changes, and no way is Toyota going to get it right for everyone offering a few options since everyone has their own personal taste with tires, suspension, lifts, etc. given the plethora of aftermarket options out there. Plus, the cost of those options to the consumer wouldn't make sense since you could most likely get something as good or most likely better for way less than they would charge you at the dealership.

that's the key, make it so they are competitive, using aftermarket parts. The sport suspension is streetlike. They need to do away with the current "TRD Pro" concept and make TRD Pro a customizable package, as I was talking about earlier. They could feasibly go into partnership with Fox/Icon/EMU/Method/Fuel/SCS, I believe that's what TRD Pro should be about. Ok now I will get off my soapbox.

Competitive with what?! Aside from the Raptor, which is a totally different beast in itself, what else is most customizable from the factory/dealer?! Off-road enthusiasts don't what that because they want to put their own stuff on the truck, not be charged an huge markup for stuff they would most likely rip off and replace anyway. This is why I think the real hard-core off-road enthusiasts are probably laughing at the TR Pro, and the guys who are most likely to buy it are just 'bros' who have no real clue or won't ever take it off-road.

competitive price wise, there are some who won't due to the fear of warranty, you can capture some lost business this way. I wouldn't own a Raptor, ever. There isn't just two types of offroad enthusiasts harcore and almost never, there are the in-betweens. If I could have ordered my OR with 2-3" more lift/better suspension and rims/tires for a nominal (read fair) markup from factory I would have, and I suspect alot out there would as well.

Yep, and for the 'inbetweeners' who don't want to mod/change/upgrade Toyota already has two pretty darn capable options that they make loads of money off of...the TRD OR and TRD Sport.

well with GMC/Chevy/Ford/Nissan getting back into or attempting to capture more of the midsize market Toyota needs to start thinking out of the box a bit more to stay on top. And no I won't buy another make of truck. This one is it for me, however I might buy another taco 10 years or so from now, I don't dare tell the wife that, she about shit when she saw the total price on this one.

Well, in your statement you already sort of said why Toyota doesn't need to run for cover and quake in their boots for fear of losing customers. You just said regardless that you won't buy any other make than a Toyota, and there are tons of guys with the same mindset, so why should they change?! I'm just saying, in the stock form, the OR and Sport and way more than capable for the in-betweeners" and they guys who are serious don't want the OEM crap that comes on these trucks anyway and do not want to pay a premium for stuff they will get rid of anyway.

then those hardcore-guys would be best suited to buy a sr package, get some lockers change out suspension etc. An experienced wheeler doesn't really need crawl control/mts. If Toyota doesn't innovate then how can they stay on top? Eventually another company will start having a reputation for reliable 4wd's and actually take some business away. Stop innovating and soon you won't have any business.

And you think this isn't what they do already?!?! Most of the people who buy the OR or "think" they need it probably never see anything more than a graded dirt road in the trucks life!

Hmmm, well I guess the total redesign of the truck for 2016 went right over your head as far as innovation goes. Guess you are just one of those people that I talked about that are never going to be pleased with anything and will always find something find fault with.

You keep using words like 'eventually" and the alike, but I don't really deal with what if's, perhaps and eventually, I am talking about the hear and now. But others can feel free to wait until they are blue in the face and take their chances on what may "eventually" happen with other car companies. For all I know I won't be here tomorrow and "eventually" will be wiped off the planet, so for now I'll go with what's out there!

And FWIW, I'm not a Toyota fanboy. This is my first Toyota ever, and have had/having transmission issues with mine, so don't think that what I am saying is because I'm a die-hard Toyota fan.

I'm in the same boat. I know I won't ever need it, but it's nice to know I have the option. I'll be commuting with this so it's nice to know I'm a little more gas efficient. But still...

Yeah, really most of the remorse comes from reading all things some people say on here about not having it..... Haha.

I got the sr5 4x4 cause i am going replace the front with adjustable coil overs and eventually replace rear springs with a new spring pack...new shocks also. Dont see paying more for trd just to take off all the trd suspension and replace with aftermarket parts.
