Jeff the Man, Lube Master and Rocket Scientist from Hopkinton University. You are absolutely correct. If you can't dance, don't bitch the beat.

BTW, I'm concerned about you hauling lumber and carrying a refrigerator. That is no way to build an igloo if you are still working on the blue prints left behind by your friend, the mad scientist. Drive North and we'll show you how.

A Roo Bar comes to mind. I also protected the tail lamps. It is a farm and you back over stuff; Willows mostly. All of the factory options are on it. The dealership owner bought it for himself. He put a topper on it and pricey tyres. The Power Wagon does the heavy lifting.
The War Wagon will do a good 20 MPH faster on the bottom of a 9% grade that we have than the Toranado or the Power Wagon.
It is not a 1969 anything.
But it steers where you look.

My Man, Themaster ! Just using the Taco for what it was designed for and to help a few friends out. Nice that the bed has the almost bullet proof liner, my other Taco buddys don't have that, one got the Rhino treatment and its nice, the other did not and he does haul stuff and his bed is all scratched and dented.

Truck is very dirty at the moment, we have a outdoor water ban, so I may actually have to go to a car wash, so I can get the next coat of wax on before the fall cool weather sets in.

If I need lessons on igloo's I will be headed for the Toronto area, for sure and will be bring my stick and skates. LOL.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend, the weather here in Mass.(land of corruption) and New England is terrific, 49deg this am and will be 72deg today.

I agree. I had 4 coping stones on my bed that weighed about 800 pounds. They sat on the liner and were sliding all over and banging the sides and all yet no visible damage. Sometimes I put a sheet of plywood on the bed before I load stones. This way, I slide the plywood out when loading/unloading the rough stuff without dragging them on the liner and the plywood slides easily on the liner with heavy stuff on it.

In his defence, the Civic Si is a poor man's imaginary "performance car". Not sports car. They are peppy and easily modifiable and their light weight easily drops the power-to-weight ratio lower. The Si has a high revving engine too and their lower centre of gravity aids in cornering.

I agree with the poor man's sports car as mentioned by the guru of all guru's "Themaster". My mothers is a 2003 and does look sort of like a funkie mini Cooper, if I dare shame the name. It has its advantages over British sports cars, it has a great electrical system, the rain doesn't faze it, its got great brakes,165 hp, ton's of rpm's, doesn't leak oil, doesn't break down and is fun to drive out in rural america and it gets 33mpg (except when I give it a work out) LOL All it needs to do is sound like a 5.4litre Mustang and it would be golden. That little engine has stones.

Is it a true sports car, no but it will surely beat a lowered Celica, Corolla, Camry or standard Civic with a $50, chrome exhaust pipe.

I know all about buyers remorse! I had a 1996 Mustang Cobra with all the bells and whistles (supercharger, piston and rods, intake, x-pipe, dyno tuned, 498hp at the rears and mid 11's in the quarter-mile....and it was a convertible). I sold that and got a 4Runner to haul my Lab and cruise the highway to work. The dealership was about an hour from my house and by the time I got home, as happy as I was, I was feeling bummed out. But, that faded as the 4Runner became more and more useful in my life. Then I went to a Tundra and I have both the power and the room. Now I am in the market for a Tacoma.

If you miss a car that much, find something cheap to fill the void. There are plenty of inexpensive alternatives for a 2nd 'fun' car. I have a CJ-7 that I hardly drive, but when I want to get dirty....it is all about my CJ!

Doesn't sound like the truck has problems? I think it's the driver, maybe stinger86 should think about public transportation if he or she is worried about the law and insurance!!

BTW, comparing a civicsi to one of the new mini cooper S's is blasphemy. the cooper will outhandle it any day and has and the S has plenty of power for a car that only weighs about a ton. although i cant speak about their mechanical problems as i have never researched that aspect of the car. Although i did almost buy one before i got my taco.

ndcouch, yes I know, I suspected that someone might comment on that. Yes there is a lot of difference between them and maybe the CivicSi, is a poor mans mini ....... I would also suspect that they don't have many mechanical problems, remember they are German engineered these days. By leaks I was refering to former British sports cars of the past, that always leaked oil no matter what, same with there Triumph bikes, which I can attest to personally.
There are very few small cars that combine hp, handling, decent fuel mileage etc. Just saying that the CivicSi is and was a fun car and if one doesn't have(or can't afford) a Mini-Cooper, either the present day German version or earlier British version, that there are some substitutes.

I've had 2 Mini's one of which was a Cooper S and 4 Civics. I owned Civics because I was poor. The car's are very cheap to operate, repair, fun to drive and modifiable. I'm yet to drive a car that handles like a Mini though. Something that came close is my 2003 WRX. However, I'll never buy a German car because the losers who sell them think they are god. Customer service is suspect and tilted in the dealers favour. I know many clients who own M3's, M5's and high end MB's and they tell me that you can't beat Japanese reliability. Prestige has little value to me but reliability is paramount.

The only thing German I like are my Doberman's. Even they have a bad attitude like BMW salesmen however the Dobe's know who Themaster is ;)

I don't want to step on Themaster's toes, but...

Mini Coopers (at least the new generation) were designed by the BMW Development Division and are manufactured in the UK at a BMW Plant. Granted, they are built in the UK, but they are no less German than an X5 or Z4 which are built here in the States.

Also, if you were to buy a new Mini Cooper...do you not have to purchase it from a BMW dealer who would also service it?

Yes. That is why I wouldn't buy one. The two Mini's I bought were Austin Mini's that were used vehicles. :bananadance:

Ah...I misunderstood what you were trying to say. At least now everyone clearly knows that the New Mini's are actually Bimmers. Many consumers don't put the dots together.

Themaster: as far as not beating japanese reliability i have a few things to say about that. In the past, it was impossible to beat German reliability. Germans have been known as masters of engineering and fabrication for centuries. During WWII, they had us beat as far as weaponry and technology. they had superior machine guns, planes and were the first to develop rocket technology. unfortunately over the last few decades their quality has dropped drastically. One reason i went with toyota over BMW is that recently i think japanese quality has surpassed german quality.... it's very hard for me to admit that being an avid beamer fan.

However, i have never been a fan of honda/acura's. I have known people with civics that have had numerous problems. I'd love a new beamer but i wont buy one unless i have enough money not to care and can trade it in every 3 to 4 years.... maybe one day....

anyway, i'll get off my German engineering soap box
