U are right. I had a 2 dr jk with 33s, and the taco drives like butter compared to the jeep. IMO it drives almost as nice as my wife’s 16 grand Cherokee overland with air suspension.

I hate mine!! HATE it. At 52 years old and having had a dozen + vehicles this 2022 SR is my least favorite. I liked my 86 Ford escort better.

I liked my 95 front leaf sprung Wrangler better.

I liked my 03 civic and my 04 corolla more.

Now I just have to find out how bad of a hit $ I will take getting rid of it.

On the flip side the 2023 4runner is probably my favorite of all time.

I found this thread searching, "buyers remorse Tacoma". LOL.

If this does not appeal to you and you need some utility a Ridgeline would suit you well. If you want to haul bicycles and 'home owner' stuff an Odyssey or Sienna with the seats folded down would provide even more utility, save for mulch and dirty stuff. Ridgeline, Odyssey, or Sienna will pull a utility trailer with dirty stuff with ease.

53 years old, I've owned vehicles from Honda, Kia, Hyundai, Dodge, Chevy, and Toyota. They all had something I liked and something I didn't care for. However, buyers remorse usually comes from someone with false expectations or not doing thorough research before making a purchase. While they may not fit the bill for everyone, they are a highly sought after vehicle for reasons that many owners understand and agree with.

When I made my purchase, I watched the forums, read reviews, complaints and media releases about the 3rd gen Tacoma. Knowing it must fit it my garage, I checked end to end length of the DCSB to verify it would with room to walk in front with the door closed. Not going to tow anything, but it needed to be reliable for fishing trips, and comfortable. Of course, the level of aftermarket parts are endless for the Tacoma, so I knew the journey of making it my own would include many options.

The smiles I get driving it, the inability to walk away from it and not turn to check out that sexy thing and the compliments from other Tacoma owners are an added bonus to why I have no regrets about my Tacoma purchase.

There must be something wrong with my 2020 Sport. Three plus years with it and not a single complaint. I traded a 2013 Highlander. Does the Sport ride, handle or accelerate like the Highlander? Of course not, it's a truck.

Lol at resurrecting a 5 year old complaint.

If there exists a vehicle that can please everyone, I guarantee that I wouldn't like it.

I upgraded to my Tacoma from my Huffy bicycle and man....i'm so disgusted by this world killing polluting beast.
-Tacoma burns lots of Gasoline the Huffy doesn't
    - Tacoma takes a lot of oil in the engine, Huffy just needs a squirt on the chain.
    - The Huffy doesn't even need brakes i can use my foot on the front or rear tires to come to a stop, that didn't go as expected on my Tacoma.
    - The Tacoma doesn't sound very tough and exhaust modifications are expensive, all the Huffy needs is a clothes pin and a playing card in the spokes and I'm rollin like a hells angel!
-The Tacoma requires 4 tires, the huffy only needs 2 and they're much cheaper.

Lets face it, Toyota is putting out an overpriced, subpar product just to make money and drain Mother Earth of her resources! This is outrageous!!!

Then sell the Tacoma and quit posting your personal negativity for the whole world to see. You’ll get no sympathy from most on here.

I traded in an LS460 for my TRD sport. I loved my LS. I also love this truck so far, even though there is nothing similar between the two. I never expected it to have a pillow soft ride, cushy supportive seats, V8 power, butter smooth acceleration, I mean I could go on and on about how different it is. I expected a truck, got a truck, and enjoy driving it. Honestly, the best part is being on at least the same level as everyone else on the road. For years before the LS I drove lincoln land yachts, but as more people driving minivans on tippy toes became the norm, it has become a PITA to drive a sedan.

I have to quote this post because I simply find it so confusing.

    1) how does an adult purchase a vehicle they decide they hate within weeks / months of owning it? I don’t understand how one purchase a vehicle that doesn’t meet their expectations when specifications are openly published and test drives are freely given.

    2) why would someone search for, then bump a 5 year old thread to publicly proclaim their lack of effective decision making capabilities? I would simply trade the truck in and purchase something else. You made a mistake that is easily corrected, even if it costs you some money.

I just find the behavior odd.

I’ve had more than my fair share of vehicles. I really like my 23 sport. I knew exactly what I was getting before I bought it. I did my research.

And to one member who stated they like their 86 Escort better, I’ve owned an 86 Escort. There is no way, no shape, no form, in no world, would I like the Escort more than a new Tacoma. it was a complete crap box from Ford. it was a failed attempt at competing with the Japanese.

If you like the escort, more power to you, go get one. I’ll keep my Tacoma…..one of the better engineered and liked vehicles I’ve owned.

The FJ is the only vehicle I can think of that I like better. And I’ve owned that since new in 2008.

Long story short. I LOVE our 2023 4runner. Test drove tacrapo around the block. Seemed OK and had a great rep. Bought it. Put miles on it and hate it.

Searched google to see if others have done same saw this and added my 2 cents.

Sold it at a loss. Signing out forever as I have nothing else to contribute.

I am kinda (barely) curious of what the OP did with his but I will probably never know.

Had a new 2nd gen. Liked it and had issues with trans , drive shaft and rear leafs by @ 170k. After it was totalled, got into a used 3rd Gen and now have over 100,000 trouble free miles. The motor and trans got a little getting used to but I love everything about this truck now. I did or a tune on it.

Well……not everyone likes the same thing. I’ve driven 4 Runners and really didn’t care for them. They are nice, but I don’t need/want a station wagon.

Best of luck with your 4 Runner…….my sister loves her’s. She is on #3…….trades every three or four years
