I never said that I agree with them, I like my truck. I'm just refuting his absurd comment that no one out in the real world outside of this forum have anything but blissful experiences with the truck.

So, you like your truck but feel it's necessary to attack someone who says nice things about the same truck? Hmmm... let me think about that one for a minute.
    You have zero credibility.

Just because he hasn't met anyone out in the real world who dislikes their truck doesn't make his comments wrong or absurd.

I'm not attacking anyone for saying nice things about the truck, I'm pointing out examples of how ridiculous people are who aren't mature enough to handle a single criticism. I mean seriously look how triggered you all are getting.

I sincerely hope there's a physical or mental reason for your attitude and not that you just like talking to and about people here like this. Get over yourself.

Part of the issue are the dramatic, exaggerated reports. "Zero power under 3500rpm" for example. Like a stall-converter? Zero power? Cut the drama, stop playing to the other three trolls and we will listen.
It would be great if you guys would sign up and introduce yourselves before your first post is a complete shit-show. This is an Enthusiast Forum, not a Fixya or OEM Post-a-problem. Your dealer gets paid to listen to whining from unhappy customers, we do not.

Exactly, these trucks really don't do any one particular thing great, but they do damn near everything well. I don't think you can find a better jack of all trades truck out there, l have loved all of mine regardless of any odd quirks.

So it's absurd that other folks don't seem to have problems like you do?

I hear ya. My first truck wasa '84 Nissan Hustler standard cab short box. Had the 2.4L NAPS engine (aka hemi) I loved that little truck but when the family started expending it had to be sold. I went through a lot of other brands in cars and minivans until i came to the Toyota family. 2 Corolla's, a Highlander and on my 2nd Tacoma. Hated the look when they first unveiled the Gen3 but it grew on me. Yes It does shift early but the ECT helps with that if it bothers you. I have a bit over 20,000 kms and so far i can say the Gen 3 is way easier on fuel then the Gen 2. I like small trucks for accessing my woodlot and it's narrow trails. I also feel the full size trucks have gotten way to big for m=no reason other then market appeal. Pretty sure todays Tacomas are as big as the 1/2 tons of the eighties with a lot more power then they had stock then.

Ive only met one person who complains about their taco. Guy had a TRD Sport 16 or 17. He asked me if I had a lot of complaints like him. Apparently the guy thought he was going to get the same power and acceleration that his f150 had, but with the gas consumption of a v6. I didnt point much out to him because he was a customer of mine but I did ask him if he test drove it. He said he did, but thought it would get much better...really? how? He said he wanted to trade it in but they only offered him $31K. Im sure if he sold it himself he'd get more for it. Personally, when I switched from an f250 to my taco there was a huge difference, but Ive adjusted my driving to how the truck is supposed to be driven and overall Im happy with it. Im guessing he just never adapted his way of driving to how these 3rd gens are supposed to be driven.

I'm driving a '08 5.3 GMC Sierra. The GMC literally has twice the HP and torque of the Tacoma 4 cylinder. There is a noticeable difference obviously. However I don't expect the 4 banger to drive like my GMC. It's all about REALISTIC expectations.

Get a TRD grassroots Super charger. It gives lots of off the line power.
