price seems about right to me. 1st gens with all the desirable s are worth $$$ and depreciate in value like molasses.

In Connecticut, that price is reasonable...'specially if it was garaged and the frame is mint. 1st gens are hot in my area, and the surrounding states I shopped them in

The points made about regional/local prices are all extremely valid. But it is still important to distinguish between private party prices and dealer prices, which generally seem to be about $2k higher. If a private party is askgin the market equivalent of dealer prices, that is too much and should be negotiated down as much as possible.

And yes, this particular spec truck seems to be the most desireable, their scarcity is increasing because of all the frame rust buybacks and destruction, and then the general market for used vehicles has been increasing since the econ downturn. They don't make these trucks anymore, and they last forever (unless Toyota crushes it or Top Gear blows it up...).

i paid 17.5k for my 03 double cab w/ 70k miles about 6 months ago in oklahoma, the price is about what they were all going for here.. my bank would only pay for the NADA value, and would not go off of kelly blue book...

I bought 2004 dc from the original owner it was in immaculate shape. It had the timing belt replaced as well as brakes and many other things. It was the cleanest 2004 I have seen. My mechanic could not believe how good it was. I paid 15700. When I got it home I serviced all the fluids and put a set of plugs in it .
    2004 dc 4x4 not TRD
That being said I have just under 16 in it. They are rare hard to find

I think he is about 2k too high for around here. I just bought my 02 DC TRD with topper, original owner and 71k miles for only $10,000

Price seems a tad high, but pretty right. i bought the SAME truck (color, lift, tires) except mine was an 03 for $14850 with 81k miles. You'll be glad you paid a bit more for a truck that is pristine

How much salt exposure did your truck have?

I could've easily bought a truck in KS, MO or OK, but I wanted a RUST FREE truck. I'm glad I found it in Colorado Springs, as a trip to AZ (due to not finding anything to my liking in TX) was my next alternative...
