Hey guys, if I can find the right info and whatnot I could end up with an 09 Taco either today or tomorrow. Been searching for one forever ever since selling my 3rd gen 4runner.

    Here's the link
    http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/621116372/overview/#2

To summarize it, it's the V6 4WD SR5 Access cab with TRD Package and tow package. It's clean and has about 107k on it. With my trade in I'd only be paying about 7 grand.

MY question is. Are there any deal breaking issues with these 09s that I don't know about? My 97 Runner was basically bullet proof.

18 grand for a truck with 107k miles on it? I guess these trucks do hold their value well, geez. Good to know.

    Good luck!

Miles don't matter nearly as much as the type of miles they are. Truck looks very clean and well taken care of, and I'd be willing to bet the 107k miles were mostly easy highway ones.

Obviously look it over for sure, but it seems to be a nice truck. And the price is good...here in Colorado, that's probably a $20k+ truck. There are no 2009-specific issues to be aware of, and the 2009+ years have some nice added features that the older 2nd gens don't have. Good luck!

Looks good. Not a bad deal. About 20xxx miles a year. Only thing I would do on test drive is to engage the 4wd.. If it wasn't used frequently the actuator ( think that is what it's called) wont engage 4wd. I went like 3 months with out getting into 4wd, and when I tried to,it wouldn't engage. After 5 minutes it finally did. It will be fine to put it into 4wd on cement , at longest your driving on a straight line.

Drive her, if she is fine, make your deal. Try to get them to throw in a short 90 day or better warranty? That way you have piece of mind if something major happens.

Nada guide says $20,000. I feel that's too much for the mileage but that's just my opinion. I bought my 09 AC used in 2011 with 45,000 miles for 24,000. If that's what you want, get it. No problems so far but I don't have the mileage yours does. I only have 58000 on mine.

deal fell through. 18k was just too much for a car that's older than mine with more miles. Couldn't bring myself to do it. Truck was super clean but he wasn't offering me anywhere near what my car is worth on a trade in. FWIW my current ride is a 2011 Ford Fusion Sport, 48k miles, it's worth about 14 on trade in according to nadaguides, guy was wanting to give me 10. No thanks.

Looks like the search continues. Maybe I'll try to find a clean 1st gen or another 3rd gen 4runner to have as a second car to beat around in. Seems like the 2nd gens are just priced way too high for my liking. I'll hang around here though, love tacos too much haha.

Sucks, that it fell through. I suggest getting an older 4Runner or Tacoma because none of these vehicles are that great on gas so when it rises again you may be looking for a gas sipper, which you'll have the Fusion for.

That's what I was thinking. Sucks to want such a desirable vehicle haha. Here's my old girl, 97 SR5. Still haven't found one as clean as she was with 183k on it when I sold it. Been in the family since it was brand new. Not a spot of rust even from living in MD.

Yeah, that's the double-edged sword with the Tacoma. Great resale value that we all like to brag about, but the cost of entry (especially used), is higher for that same reason. Good luck with your search.
