Nah, nearly all 2nd gen'ers will eventually upgrade and OP is doing it now.

Not true. Go check out the forums... if this was the case, no one would own 1st Gen trucks. This truck has plenty to offer. But I'm not gonna sit here and swing dicks with you.

Did anyone else catch this, 95k miles in 5 years but the later post indicates new tires 2 years ago with only 5k miles? So seller put 90k miles on it in just 3 years then has barely driven it since? Might just be me but the math looks a little fuzzy....Proceed with caution......

It has 4X4, does it not? I always find that to be the first and most fundamental element of off all the road functions. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Outside that, the truck looks like absolute dog shit, OP.
Keep looking, and as mentioned, if need be pay a few bucks and have one shipped,

It’s hard to keep a truck clean in mud country, you city dwellers don’t understand. It’s just dirt.
    But that dent!
And why the new clutch. My 08 went 200k+ before I sold it, hauling trailers way too big for a midsize truck along with rough farm use. Clutch was still fine.

I literally live on the TAT, and mine never looks like that.
The truck in question is neglected. At least cosmetically, and likely mechanically.

Move on. Also, if you could get the VIN number, you can run it on Toyota.com/owners to see any work done on it by Toyota

Actually, if you were paying attention, I merely suggested my opinion to the OP. The other member wanted to make it a contest. I guess if you used your reading and comprehension skills, you would have picked up the part where it says "to each their own".

Nice try, though. Maybe next time.

I was paying attention. The thread is called "Buying a 3rd gen Tacoma." If you'll notice, we're in the 3rd gen Tacoma forums. In 3 back-to-back posts, you stated your unprompted opinion that a 2nd gen truck is superior to the 3rd gen trucks, which follows the literal spirit of the term you used, "dick swinging," which is how everyone would interpret that in any scenario. Nobody asked about your thoughts on the 2nd gen vs. 3rd gen trucks, it's not relevant to the conversation at hand, and you clearly didn't feel like you made your opinion felt enough in the 1st post, nor the 2nd post, nor the 3rd, and then you insult my reading comprehension? Go back to your 2nd gen forums and enjoy your truck without feeling the need to be a totally unhelpful jack-off here.

But that's just like, my opinion man.

The all important Rear Locker & Crawl Control. Both the Off Road & the Pro TRD have them. Not to mention neither have the "street suspension" provided with the Sport. It's basically an SR5 with a hood scoop. (And I'm not knocking the SR5, it comes with 4x4 capabilities)

Just saying, if your gonna pay for a TRD, it should have the TRD functions.

Anyways, I too would stay away from that one Eric. Looks beat up.

A new clutch required before 100k miles.. Is that anywhere near normal?

So I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you're probably not a big fan of the TRD Off Road 2WD.:rofl:
Any feelings on the TRD Camry, because it's a thing too.. :D

No shit Sherlock. Show me the rule where it claims I'm not allowed to comment on a post in your beloved forum with my opinion on the matter.

Thanks for your spiel though. Maybe its time you go check your blood pressure.

    OP,

The truck sounds worn for $28k. Another vote for importing a clean example or traveling for a great truck.

The Sport model is a good option if you're looking for a manual transmission.
