So I am looking into getting back into a Tacoma. I know what I want- TRD off road/double cab with 5' bed/auto in Quicksand and that's it. Every dealer seems to have them with the premium package. I don't want any accessories and I absolutely don't want the lane change and cruise control warnings. With that being said can you order a truck the way you want?

    Thanks in advance

Myself I bought a new '17 as the '18's were coming out. Saved $4,000.

But the '18's have all that shit, so good luck.

I think lane departure and the smart cruise control are part of the TSS so you would have to look for a 2016 or 2017 if you don't want it on your truck.

As stated above, lane departure warning and other stuff is part of the TSS which is on all 2018 plus trucks. I got a 2018 and wasn't too sure about it at first, but I do not ever use Cruise Control so thats no big deal, and the other stuff can be turned off.
You may be able to find a 2018 still hanging around for a great deal.
As far as ordering one, you can tell your dealer what you are looking for and they will see if they can get it for you or change an allocation, unless you have a lazy dealer, they will tell you they can't do that.
Your best bet is to do the legwork yourself, look on cars.com or something similar and look around your area. If you are willing to travel that helps you out a lot, if not then you have to hope your local dealer can get one you find transferred. I got lucky and my dealer happened to get a 2018 Inferno Sport as a swap, and since Inferno is now discontinued I had to jump on that deal. Good luck.

I don't think it's possible to buy what you're asking for. My 19 SR has the lane departure and adaptive cruise control, and they automatically add more accessories to higher trim levels. I tried to get them to remove the $329 floor mats and $699 Toyota car platinum and was told it's tied to the VIN and comes that way (don't know if that's true).

You could try to order, go on the website and try, but whenever I have done that the website automatically adds certain packages and accessories depending on the selection you choose. It's not a-la-carte.

You can turn off all of the TSS/Lane Departure/back up sensors etc... You may not be able to find an 18' or newer without them, but you can turn them all off individually.

No you cannot order the truck you want. Toyota does not do custom orders. You can only submit a request for the truck you want (that is a configuration they make) and if one is made then it can be allocated to the dealer you made tge request from.
There is no promise the dealer will recieve a truck that is requested.
Typically its only an issue with TRD Pros and dealers can only get so many.

Toyota Safty Sense is now standard. You cannot get a truck without it.

Ok Thanks. That's very disappointing to say the least. I hate paying extra for stuff I don't want. For some reason all the dealers have a bunch of sports and only one or two off roads. The last tacoma I bought on impulse and it wasn't what I wanted(sr5 long bed) so I don't want to make the same mistake again.

Wait and find the truck you want instead of accepting something else.

If you don't want to pay for extra stuff you don't want, buy an SR and then customize it. You can change out the suspension to something better than the OR for probably less money. But I don't think they make the good colors like quicksand in SR.

It is dissapointing and I am a person that hates the computer sensing features in cars as well.

But at least you can turn it off. And it really doesn’t impact the overall cost of the truck by much.

If you don’t want it get a 16 or 17.

Even the SR has TSS, so he would have to go get a 2016 or 2017 to avoid it.

I was in the market to replace my 2nd gen. Taco at the end of Sept. Right up front I didn't want any of that TSS gobilty goop either. To me it's more crap to "f" up later down the road. I finally decided on the color I wanted after much anal-izing. It seemed like a longshot as I had not seen a Cement offered in an Off Road in my area (only sport models). So when I asked my local dealer to see if they could find one, low and behold they had one ordered and sceduled to arrive by transport in the next couple weeks. Then I find out it had all that TSS (standard) stuff as well as the technology package. I decided to stay with it cause I was sold on that color, but it was not the way I would have ordered my truck. Long story short, I have been super happy with it and like another said, you can turn alot of that stuff off. I have actually started using some of the gadgets and find it can be quite useful. It's not as irritating as I was worried it would be. YMMV

Your opportunity to buy that spec was back in 2017. 2018+ Tacoma’s now come with mandatory technology.

What region and have you checked the region inventory? Cincinnati has almost what you want. Has spare tire lock and all-weather mats/door sill protector(seems like every Cinci gets the latter accessory added).

Tacomas are so high in demand right now that dealers are not as flexible as if you are buying a Camry or corollas or any other sedan.

What you mean to say is Standard throughout the line. That was Toyota's choice to do. Nobody mandated anyone to do anything.
