Found this 1992 pickup that has 280k for $1600 is this a good deal it’s a 4x4 stick. I have no clue of the condition except gasket are a little drippy and the frame was plated.

Could be a fun project. Could also be a money pit that will never be safe at any speed. The frame plating is concerning, it has to be done right, and I wonder what else is rusted to shit if the frame was bad.

    ^^^ this

If $1600 is your budget and you are looking for a daily driver I would stay the hell away from it. If you are looking for a project and don't mind getting your hands dirty then yeah, dump that leaky 3.slow for a 3.4 v6, throw some 33" tires on there and go have fun. I would love to have an early short wheel base truck as a toy but I don't have the space at home for a project and they don't have the space for me as a daily.

If you are ready to get your hands dirty and enjoy neat projects "GO FOR IT". Always liked the standard cab trucks......
