Buying a 1997 Tacoma - Right Call?

    HBS leveling kit, 31x10.50 mudders, header/imco exhaust, rear billies, LR ucas, home brewed onboard air, cb radio
    2.4l is a good reliable engine and should move a little 2wd 5 lugger around without to much hassle, if the need arises for more power those little 2.4l LOVE boost and significant gains can be had from a turbo kit pushing even just a few psi.

    Thank you guys so much for all of the replies. Unfortunately the truck got bought out from under me as I was on my way to give it a test drive :(

    However, I now know that I'm looking for a 1st Gen, probably late 90s Tacoma for sure. I can't wait to find one and take it across the 400k mark. I'm sure I'll have many more questions here during the buying / maintenance process so bear with me!

    OME suspension kit, 4:56 gears, 285/75/16 BFG Ko2, level 8 bronze wheels, canopy west shell, 32”light-bar, Leather interior, Removed sway bar,
    My 2.4 98 automatic 5lug isn't anywhere near gutless, it'll smoke the tires and top out at 100mph. I recently put a lift on it and 30 in tires and it will still do a burn out with stock gears! And gets decent mileage. I wouldn't pay anywhere hear 7k for one though..
