I bought mine with 215k and, after a successful test drive, didn't give a second thought to buying it. In fact, I spent way more time inspecting the frame than the engine and transmission - I knew the mechanical components were fine from the way it drove.

Trying to fix a rotten frame would be a much bigger challenge than a water pump, head gasket, etc.

Wasn't seeing what you were seeing. All I saw was the '03 Prerunner.

Now after poking around I see it's in his signature. And I have signatures turned off from viewing. Even though I have one too. :anonymous:

You'd be in an even worse situation; you'd have to deal with warranty issues they're having, a gutless engine, rattling noises, A/C drip mod or w.e. else goes on in that section :anonymous:

Until getting my new Tacoma I have never owned a Toyota that had below 200k miles... I say go for it.

his price range is not high enough yet for much of anything locally that has 'decent' body panels that are 10~20+ years old

Really depends on the true condition and care it's been given. Those could have been 200K hard and neglected miles or 200K babied miles. Look it over very, very carefully -- and look past the lipstick and shine the seller may have put on it -- and trust your gut about the truck AND how the seller sounds. You can always walk -- there are lots of trucks out there.
