I used autotrader to find my truck and it was a lot better than going to dealers websites like you said. You may want to increase your search radius, I had to travel 500 miles to get my truck.

and @RedWings44 is correct with the miss markings, I found in my search area the listings were always missing options the trucks had so I started using the msrp price of the listing to narrow things down.

If you find what you want, sans audio, buy it.

For the $2500 you mention you can get a better system and may have $ leftover.

It’s a decent starting point for making some phone calls.

Like I said, you have to take it with a grain of salt. Looking through photos can help. "Trust, but verify."

Biggest problem in this market is finding out that truck is just what you wanted, but it sold three days ago and they didn’t take down the listing yet.

When I was shopping in late 2019 for my 2020 it was mostly base with no options, or fully loaded on the dealer lots.
Even finding a base OR (no options) without any dealer installed crap was difficult.
I found one, negotiated over the phone, and did the 200 mile drive to get it.

Yep! I got mine just before the market blew up. The dealership said several others were looking at it. Normally I'd figure this to be a negotiation tactic but I believed them because they had to mark it as sold for me to come test drive it and never actually took a deposit from me even though we discussed it.

I had good luck with Cars.com B.C. (Before Covid) when looking for a Pro.
