This afternoon I am going to try to buy a cap, again. The first attempt didn't work out so well, and that is detailed in another thread.

Now I am going looking at either the Leer 100RCC or the A.R.E. Overland.

I was just curious how these stack up against each other. Any insights would be appreciated.

Oh, the truck is a Magnetic Grey DCSB.

FYI...I also have a DCSB and just ordered the A.R.E. X Series cap. I placed the order with side WinDoors with a slider window for both sides of the cap but my dealer called me back saying ARE doesn't offer a side WinDoor with a Slider window for the Tacoma Shortbed. So I had to change the order to just the WinDoor without the integrated sliding window.

So...if you have a double cab shortbed Tacoma and want WinDoors with sliding Windows in them, ARE is not your brand.

Headed toward the leer dealer first. Leaving in a few minutes.

I really like your rig...love the side windows on the Shell...and the color...haven't seen one like this in person but it works

It's not mine. A.R.E. Rep sent the picture to me when I was considering that cap style for my truck and I wanted to see what it looked like on a Tacoma.

So far decided in the Leer 100RCC. Dropped the 1500 for a deposit with a total of $2300. I chose the Leer for the extra reinforced roof. I got the win-doors on the sides, carpet lined, sliding front window (not the fold down), dome light, and the Thule Tracks.
