Ive finally decided the next big Tacoma purchase is going to be a shell, lot's of them are listed on CL in my area. What do I need to look for when buying it used?

test fit. make sure they have keys. all mounts tighten well, seals are good. pricing should reflect condition.

Also check the corners for damage. Being cumbersome to remove by yourself, it can easily be dropped and land on its corners. If they have back & side windows that slide open, make sure that they move freely.

Thanks for the advice y'all, got the cap, fits great, camped in it during a rainstorm last weekend and not a single leak.

Now I need to wire in the rear tail light and build a platform inside.
