Only one of the greatest self proclaimed iPhone 8 photographers in San Diego County. I’ll even put on my skinny jeans, organic hemp scarf and drink my flat white coffee while taking the photos.

I think you have to decide how long you’re willing to wait to get a good deal. Sounds like you have the exact truck you want already picked out In your mind. I get that. But, you may have to pay just a little more than others to get that exact truck. There’s certainly nothing wrong with that.

OTOH, if you want to hold out and getter a truck for a little lower cost, you may have to wait it out or take a color that’s not your first choice.

Personally, I would get the truck you want and if you have to sleep at the dealer overnight to take it off the delivery truck at 7am the next morning, so be it.

I’m sure I could find a similar truck for less, but yeah this is exactly what I want and so if it’s gonna cost a tad more I’m totally fine with that. Lol with my schedule it will be more like sitting in traffic on my way to OC after work and standing in the dark at 8pm as they unload it off the truck.

Yep, I’m that same way. When I wanted my ‘15, I wasn’t looking or expecting any great deal. I just wanted what I wanted and didn’t want to travel all over SoCal looking for it.
    Good luck

I got $2500 off of MSRP at Toyota San Diego about 2 months ago. They had to go to L.A to get the truck because there weren't any that I wanted in San Diego.

Yes that's a great price for the SD market. When I was looking at the end of 2016 (2017 models) off road 4x4 with tech package were selling for $41k. My TRD sport 2wd was $37.5k msrp then. I managed to get $1800 off msrp which was a steal at the time. I bought through Toyota SD in the end since they gave me the best deal. But Frank Toyota was another consideration for me as they were the only in the area not marking above MSRP. They also seem to have the best deals on PRO models of tacomas and 4 runners, meaning they actually sell them at MSRP.

Same as a few of the other posters, got a great deal on my 2017 tacoma from Toyota SD. Went for service at Toyota Chula Vista, from the sales people, to parts department, to service department, definitely lacking in customer service.

Thanks. Considering most TRD OR 4x4s are listed at 38+ I’m feeling pretty good about my 36,5.

Yeah I used truecar for both my Tacoma and Jeep for my lady last year. Like I said $1800 off on the truck and $3400 off on the Jeep. Which amuses me because Mossy Toyota in PB marks there's up $5k and Carl burger Jeep asks $2k above MSRP. Let's just say I definitely avoided both those dealers.

I would pull the trigger on your deal brother. Sounds like a great deal considering you're only paying $700 more than I did but for a 4x4 with tech. Tech package was a must for me. 4x4 I was fine without. Plus get the color and combo you want right. Can't wait to see your ride.

Another note, it's funny though because I took the money I saved and dumped that right back into mods.

One thing I did is if you get a trucar price is bring to another dealer and when they try to sell you on a car you can say but this other dealer can get me the truck for this price. That's what I did, using a certificate through truecar for Toyota El cajon. Got me an extra $500 off at Toyota SD.

Even though Mossy Toyota has ridiculous prices for trucks I actually take mine for service there. Brian is awesome and services both my other Toyota and even my parents. He's the coolest and most helpful service tech I've ever had. And I use him every time.

Go in at the end of the month, find the sales leader board, then ask for the salesperson by name on the bottom of the list. There is always a board, just gotta find it, but it sounds like a good deal. Also I feel like you can get better deals through brokers in LA

I had a great experience at Toyota of El Cajon - I hit up their internet sales guy, told him the truck I wanted OR/AT/DC/SB/Tech/BedCover. I paid $38k for a tuck stickered at $42,500k.

I used TruCar and El Cajon is a Tru Car dealer so no push back on price. I actually asked for $500 below the Tru Car price and the guy said sure. All the negotiation was done over the phone on 2-3 calls in the same day. He found the truck i wanted nearby at another dealer and made a trade, he had it on his lot within 3hrs.

I had my own financing and put 50% down so I just came in the next day, signed the paperwork and handed the finance guy two checks (one from me and one from the bank) and left in my new truck - I was in and out in 45 min.

Maybe I could have had a better deal (another $500-1000 off) but with the whole process being so easy I actually didn't mind. The price was fair and the deal was done without all the typical dealership BS and time wasted.

Finance guy tried to sell me the POS KARR alarm upgrade for $800 and tried telling me how good it is over the one actually built into the Tacoma's BCM. They just put these cheap alarms in every car so the sales guys can pop open any car with a remote they carry instead of having to pull keys for each vehicle. If you don't buy the BS KARR alarm upgrade they just stick a little fuse thing in which bypasses the add-on alarm.

First thing I did when I got home was open up the dash and remove the POS KARR alarm thing. It was just attached via cheap crimp/taps and the main kill-wire was cut so I had to solder that back together.

FYI - It seems all the SoCal Toyota's have this KARR Alarm installed

Toyota Carlsbad, see Duff Joy (Fleet Sales), tell him David Kier referred you. I have bought 5 Toyotas (3 Tacomas, 2 Corollas) from 2000 to 2015 through Duff. No hassles, no gimmicks, easy sneezy.
