I tried all the SD dealers and nobody was willing to come down on pricing. I was after a 2018 cement color and was shopping last November though. Your $36.5 is not a bad deal for the package and location.

I ended up finding a great deal in Arizona. If you haven't already made a deal give Earnhardt Toyota a call and try to speak with Mike Landau.

I hate that f' ing Karr alarm. They want big bucks for it but don't take it out if you don't buy it. Plus they tap into the wiring of your brand new truck and drill 2 holes in the dash. I certainly didn't buy it and get pissed every time I look at the fuse panel and see all those wire taps.

When I bought mine a year ago, Escondido is who I went with. That was after obtaining pricing from about 10 dealers all through SoCal with the configuration I wanted in stock (TRDOR DC 4x4 in quicksand). Walked out at roughly $491 under invoice. Toyota of El Cajon offered a close deal at $250 under. Nobody the SoCal area was close in price to them, with the exception of Toyota of BFE (don't remember the town) way out in the desert somewhere.

Greater LA area dealers to include Longo would not come down any more than what truecar pricing was at the time, which was about $1k under MSRP. Some weren't willing to go that low.

I was right about $2400 under MSRP, and know I got a good deal at the time. You are in the same ballpark. If you like the truck, I'd pull the trigger and not worry about it. Especially this early in the month. Later in the month, a better deal could be possible...but will they still have the truck in the configuration you want? You'd have to start the headaches and negotiation all over again.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah the more I look into it 36,5 is pretty darn good. Sure some people get theirs for less but this is exactly what I want. I’m gonna do it, just waiting on the delivery!

I had to go out to Alexader Toyota in Yuma to find a decent deal on mine. They are a volume dealer and have everything set up to register it in CA without much hassle. They were also very quick and easy to work with. FYI I got them down several hundred dollars below what they were advertising as their discounted price at the time.

Well guys there’s been a slight change of plans. Orange County dropped the ball on delivery and has no clue where the truck is or when it will arrive. By chance, I found the same truck at a local dealer, got them to 36,000, and am now picking it up tonight at 8!

Yep! It’s got it all, just missing tube steps. But I was gonna put sliders on eventually anyways so I’m stoked.

You're gonna love the quicksand. Get ready for a lot of comments on it.

Envious of the tech package. Wanted the moonroof in the worst way on mine, but just not enough headroom. And I also didn't want to lose the storage space behind the rear seat.

Damn...if only there would have been enough headroom....

My thoughts exactly. Moonroof is sick but I need the headroom.

FYI truecar is now owned in large part by dealer associations through stocks and ain’t what it used to be. Source, I work in the industry.

Heads up for anyone in SD looking for a pro.
They have had two, a blue one and a white one, on the lot @ escondido for the last couple weeks Marked up to 53k.
I was in there this morning for service and it looks like the found a sucker for the blue one, it was sitting up front detailed with no stickers looking like it was waiting to be picked up.
But the white one was interesting...

Looks like they had to unwind a deal, take it back after it was sold, and are now have to sell it used.
The original marone wasn’t in the window anymore, it was replaced with the one they use for used cars...listed with MSRP and then the laundry list of add-on accessories it had on it. Came out to 48k.

I may be wrong, but if that is Indeed the case, a savy TW’er hunting for a pro might be able to come in there and take advantage of the situation and beat it down some more.

Congrats! That's a great colored truck. Toyota El cajón was the dealer that originally gave me a great price and I was fortunate to have Toyota San Diego beat their price for me. So you did get the tech package then? I don't see the moon roof on yours. If so then you saved an extra $4300 than what the trucks were going for when I was in the market. I paid $35.5k ($1.8k below MSRP) for mine with tech package but mine is 2wd. I weighed saving the extra $3k then to how much I would use the 4wd. But, man if I got your price would have definitely done the 4wd with tech. Again congrats! Let the fun begin. Every time I take out the truck I have a blast and I know you will too.

PS. I have my Go rhino steps in the classifieds if you are interested. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/go-rhino-side-steps.541609/#post-17607577

My last 2 Toyotas I refused to pay for the Karr alarm. So they take off that alarm fee and disable them. Funny thing is though that they leave the brains and shock sensors of the alarms behind the dash still all connected to the trucks wiring.

Edit:. Just saw that someone else alreadt mentioned what I just posted. Sorry for the redundancy.
