I'm sure I could leave with the pulled parts... and I completely forgot that the TRD-OR has desirable pull-offs. My Jeep suspension pull-offs were worth no more than scrap... yet another thing to research price on.

    It's a sound move IMO.

Keep in mind that dealer negativity runs rampant around here. Just the nature of the beast. Some of it is real....but most of it is perceived. And it's popular for people to pile on. Every thread that has anything to do with dealerships is the same. I think they just copy and paste the same bashing quotes over and over.

Plus people around here get jaded and forget not everyone has the ability, space, tools, knowledge, time or perhaps the desire to do these types of modifications. And the serious off road crowd tends to forget that the average lifted truck is not ever going to rock crawl....and in most case may never see much off road action at all...if ever.

Here in TW we tend to think that we are "all things Tacoma" and the world is watching. In fact, we account for a tiny percentage of Taco owners. The vast majority of owners have never even heard of TW and/or wouldn't consider wasting time on the internet talking about lifts, tires, and whether my oil can beat up your oil.

So dealership modifications serve a real purpose for the average person

You're paying for the stock suspension when you purchase the truck. Then you're paying a premium for the lift parts. So the stock parts should be yours to keep....unless they are providing a discount on the lift install equal to the wholesale price of the stock components

Like I said, drive it around a bit on the stock suspension, you might find out you like it quite a bit as is.

You can always go to a taller tire like a 255/80 to add height.
