In Southern California, there are no deals to be had on a Pro. All are well over MSRP. SUCKS.

Not entirely true. Got mine in SoCal at MsRP. Took a lot of call to different dealers though.

Others have pointed it out but if 6500 down into 6 years of $700 payments at what I'm sure is a shit interest rate was ever a consideration you need to reassess. That's throwing tons of money away. On the order of $25,000+

Also, to all the people bawking at high payments...the actual payment amount is largely irrelevant. The only thing that matters at the end of the day is total interest paid. High payments generally result in less interest paid so they are without question the better route as long as they can be reasonably afforded. In fact the best payment is 1 single lump sum. The highest payment there is.

Needless to say interest paid on what the OP proposed is relatively astronomical. And that doesn't even take into consideration that he'll be effectively paying some $10-15k over market price before even a single penny of interest has been paid.

You will have to get the truck weighed and smogged upon bringing it to California. I bought my truck in Grants Pass, Oregon. Cost me about $100 for both certificates. Paid MSRP for a 2018 PRO.

Negotiate on price, not payments. Then, go to a local credit union and open an account and get a loan approved. That will likely give you the lowest APR. You are going to pay more, guaranteed, if you negotiate on payments financed by the dealership. But, if money is no object, have at it with the 'deal' you have!

    Hello

Does not sound like your getting a great deal ?

PM me your number if you like, I will be at Salinas Toyota today for service...11:am not to far from SoCal..

My salesperson was the best I've ever dealt with .. 50 years of buying cars in CA...Yikes.. I should have moved a long time ago.
No hassles, he will call you once and when your truck arrives, he returns your calls when you need him..they sale ALL there vehicle's at MSRP or below, never a mark up and with a 805 credit report you should be able to get a 1.25 - 1.75 rate from them as I did, but I did put a lot more money down and 3 years only.

If Armando (Sales Person) has a PRO coming and no buyer ( he will know exact date and no bullshit ), give them a deposit of $500 and as soon as it comes off the trailer buy it ! Monterey is not a bad place to hang for a couple of days, I do know all the great beer, food, hiking and biking places if needed.
Buy your accessories later or take them off and sell what you don't like.. they are allocated Pros so it's hard to change the accessories but you could easily sell/buy Taco items on the web.

Or just call Salinas Toyota and ask for him but I do like helping him, he's that honorable, No commission for me !!!

    ps
My daughter works for the largest car dealership on the Monterey Peninsula and could not do the same for a PRO :(
    I still Love Her ...............

    Cheers

Two things here. Some people just have money to piss away. I am not one of those people. I would rather take 700 a month and apply it to a rehab house and then flip it or rent it out

Last Sunday I pulled up next to a PRO 2018 at the stop light. I have a 2017 OR long bed. The guy rolled his window down and said to me man you made the right desicion this PRO is not worth the money. I saw him earlier cruising around the mall in his PRO. Needless to say after told me that I felt really good about my 450.00 a month four year loan

Shoot I pay that much extra per month on my mortgage just to knock it down.

OP - as others have said, shop by price, not payment. The dealers will always win by payment.

Don't know where you live but in California if you wanted to rent a decent apartment expect to pay 2300 a month for a 1 bed room bottom floor level around 675 square feet

In my area a two bedroom appt with a garage space is $1,500/mo.

Its very expensive to rent. Which is fine short term or depending on your moving habits.

Def worth it to stash your 20% and buy.

I also live with my husband and another couple. I just finished grad school and am going to start Law School. My bestfriend is in his last year of Med School. 3 of us are in grad school of some kind.
Splitting bills is effing awesome. I own the home and hope to have it paidoff in no time.

Live with as many people as you can for as long as you can. Money wise its nice. It helps the burden of expensive grad school too.

There should be a section of Tacoma World for people looking for roomates so they have more money to spend on mods XD

Hahahahaha I bet that section would thrive!!! Wish I had roommates. I do plan on buying in the next two years though, but houses in Dallas are stupid expensive.
