I'm now in my early 50's and have been very fortunate to own an extra fun vehicle now for 30 years, I've had quite a few of them. FWIW that Cobra is the only one I truly regretted selling, I tried to buy it back twice with no luck.

That looks to be a 2003/2004 Cobra unless he's done a body kit. If its a real 2003/4 that should go for way more than $7k.

Absolutely! If you have the means and space to park an extra vehicle, you then have less stress when something breaks, or you just want to drive something else for a bit. You won't log as many miles on either vehicle as you would just owning one.

I am currently insuring two trucks and two cars, and I'm looking to get yet another truck. I like vehicles.

It has the 03/04 front bumper, side mirrors, side skirts, wheels and rear deck-lid wing. Hell if he's selling the car in the picture for $7k and its not salvage... i'll buy it!

Last Jan 3rd I sold my 98 Cobra with 74k miles for $10k cash. Clean, un-abused 03/04 Cobras are like the holy grail of Cobras at the moment.

    Gratuitous pic posting!

if you have no debt, buy it. If you need cash for a house/ring/other, you can sell it for more or same price. All contingent on insurance not being outrageous. I have 2 cars, convenient to have a spare.

It's a 2001, I just got that pic off the net, looked the most like it (same wheels, spoiler, mustang emblem in front grill instead of the cobra), but the bumper is a llittle different. No supercharger unfortunately ;( If I remember right the 03 and 04 had superchargers? I was looking online and an 01 with those miles are going for 10-12k. The 03-04 go for alot more with the superchargers!

Having a second vehicle is a terrible idea and he's asking WAAAY too much for that Mustang. You should pass and let someone else bite the bullet. What's his phone number and where does he live? :D

On a serious note, having another ride is incredibly important, especially if it's one that gets better mileage than the Tacoma. I found I was starting to run my Tacoma into the ground commuting it every day and using it for fun/chores on the weekends. I chose the fun yet economical choice of a mid-size sedan with a manual transmission. Everything about maintenance is cheaper than the Tacoma including brakes, oil changes, and tires. While that Mustang may not be a practical commuter car, you'd be crazy to pass up that deal.

THIRD EDIT (what I get for trying to post before I've had my coffee) with photo of my commuter:

My dad's philosophy is, "If you can only own one car, it has to be a truck. If you can own more than one, own them all."
