Family friend has a 95 Tacoma extended cab V6 Auto that they are looking to sell. Wanted to know what you guys think?

    Good:
    60K miles
    Good condition
    Full plow set-up
    cap

    Bad:
frame has rust on the back that needs repair
    ball joints
    struts
    leaking valve covers

I havnt gone to look it over yet so this is just what I know so far. If the frame needs to be replaced, can they even by found anymore? and are the dealers worth buying from at what $3K a frame?

    Price: $2K

    And one more off-topic question.

I inherited some tools from my Dad when he passed a few years ago. I;m passing most of them down to my son, because they are duplicates.

I fixed the belt sander switch and cord from another that was being scrapped. I'm keeping the small bench drill press until I can find a good deal on a floor standing one.

I pulled out Dad's old 7" (not 7¼") circular saw. It has an old, non-carbide, framing blade on it so I figured I would buy a new blade.

Does anyone know if 7¼" blades will fit a 7" spec saw or am I going to be in for a "grail hunt" ?

Anything else to consider besides Freud Diablo's ?

For a general purpose framing blade - D0724X or ?

I also thought I would pick up a good "finish" blade, mostly for plywood - D7060X or ?

For the average guy who uses his saw once in a blue moon, is there any other special purpose blades besttoolexpert.com/circular-saw-blade worth buying until the need arises ?

frames are super expensive to swap.i would either diy and weld a patch in the frame and wire wheel and paint the rest. maybe you can get a quote from a welder to weld it but i would suspect not super cheap, though you never know. Check out the scotty kilmer video on youtube about a frame repair.
suspension is usually straightforward to fix yourself, and valve covers you can do in two hours, it really is super easy.
i wouldnt go over 1000$ now, and 1500$ if i had a shop. , the frame really is a killer to try to sell it. it is a 25 year old truck at this point.
the plow is usually a negative to most people, because the taco was not designed to take it. the load is really too much and can give stress fractures over time.

ill take it for 500$:rofl:i bet its gonna be really hard to find a buyer, unless they are looking to make a mud truck out of it. in your area of the country, i assume the carolinas, that is more common fortunately

    Denestan,

LoveableWerewolf has made some good points not to buy it. These are the things that are worth something to somebody that this truck has. The Toyota 3.4 V6 engine and the transmission both have value. If you are willing to remove these items, you will make more than the $2,000.00 you paid for the rig. The body panels that are rust free are also worth something to somebody or a shop.

I would only look at purchasing this thing for a return on the purchase. I would not buy with hopes of restoring it.

I wish I was closer I would buy it in a minute ! Ten Hours one way is to long.

Last I checked no New Frames were being sold by Toyota Doubtful any will be .

The price was closer to $5000.00.

If really needed a frame in the Southwest USA might be found then shipping might cost more.

What drives the price up out sourcing refurbishing the frame is pulling the fuel tank and bed then you have the added bolts and hardware . Then if they are busy quite a few will not even want to do the work making the estimate so very expensive.

When you do go take some good pictures of the frame
