I try very hard to buy only American made products. I resent the manufacturers who hide the country of origin and take back products that do so. As mentioned about the Carharts, it would be one thing if they charged accordingly. Carharts should then cost about $1.50.

It is your and my jobs we are sending overseas everytime we buy from another country.

I try to buy local too, but its hard to blame companies in America for going to other countries to manufacture their products, yeah the labor is cheaper but i think its more because our Government has to many "red tape" for business owners to go through and fees and taxes and so on. Before America was one of the largest producers and sadly enough now were the largest consumers in the world. When times are hard sometimes you just have to go with the deals

i do find this thread funny, considering this is a toyota forum, also most companies even if it is made in america, alot of material/parts arent, yes you are supporting the 'assembler' but you are also not, buying local/mom pop stores are the only way to ensure direct contribution, but then again, those guys can just as easily buy everything overseas too.

im as patriotic as the next joe, i tear when i hear 'im proud to be an american'
but i buy whatever i find cheaper and better, regardless of where it's made. (usually excludes china)

X2......let's be realistic OP about where your stuff comes from. Our state regulations and unions make manufacturing more lucrative out of the USA. sad to say, but it's the truth.

Yeah no shit! Outsourcing is cheaper and easier to big companies. I’m just asking who looks and buys American. as I stated earlier we can't live without buying out of country, just as everyone else.

I get what you're saying, but im totally guilty of looking to save a buck and buy cheaper shit made offshore. But, on a big purchases, i will look to see where the thing was made, and will pick USA goods. It just sucks that the pool to pick from is so limited.
