Hey guys I've been wanting to get rid of my 2015 Mazda 3 and get me another Toyota truck. Been looking at first gens, there is one real close to me going for 5200 OBO, only thing is is that it has 348k miles lol. My taco has 400k on her so I know how beastly Toyotas are. What are your opinions on it? I'll link the Craigslist add too

    https://cosprings.craigslist.org/cto/d/pueblo-2006-toyota-tundra-sr5-trd/7144295030.html

what would you do?? Also any tips on selling a car that you owe money on?

Hey man! Thank you! It's a 2006 1st Gen Tundra, I forgot to add the sale link but I fixed it. I want to get rid of my Mazda because I'm just tired of it and how much plastic it's made of haha if that makes sense

05 and 06 Tundras were the best year for engine/body upgrades so that's a plus. They're dead on reliable generally speaking so that's a plus. Much more Spacious inside than a 2nd Gen Tacoma without being too much bigger externally, so that's nice. More power.

Downsides, well over 300k miles, even on the most reliable vehicle, means parts need replacing.
Make sure the 90k service was done on that engine religiously. Great engine as long as that's done.
Dent in the tailgate is pretty bad, make sure it's still functional, and meets your needs, etc.
And of course, it was owned by a high school kid, so, probably not babied around town.

I'd be wary of the mileage and want to see serious maintenance records for that engine.
Other than that the rust doesn't look out of control but I'd ask for more frame photos and offer a lower price. Your call. Will need parts replaced, guaranteed. But great trucks! Underrated for sure!

    Thank you sir!
It's a 2006 1st Gen Tundra! My mazda is decent on gas but it's just so plastic feeling, I'd rather have another truck. Or maybe that's crazy thinkin on my part. I should have just got an older Subaru instead of taking a loan out on a 2015 car.
I posted the Craigslist add as well!

Yeah your right, definitely will need some work done. Rust is another thing I didn't consider but here in Southern Colorado it's bone dry so hopefully rust won't be too much. I' would def try and get it for 4k,its been for sale for a while now. Hopefully the kid diving it wasn't as dumb as I was in high school, but I highly doubt it

1st Gen Tundras are underrated big time.

Basically better than a Tacoma in every way except for being maneuverable/angles/gas mileage. I’ve been looking for a good one for years to no avail. All rusty around here.
