I'm just learning about all of this, I'm looking for a rib section to trim myself, I want to make some Tomahawk Steaks

as well as some other special cuts, but I'm too cheap.
The price is for the unprocessed animal, net weight price is probably closer to $5 lb., and you get bones, fat and organs, I could use some of the less desirable stuff for dog food.
From an 800 Lb animal, you get about 400 lbs
Approx 35 lbs per cubic foot (about a milk crate).
BTW, South Bay Appliance in Gardena, may still have some 5 Cu Ft chest freezers in stock, ask for Clint, he's been hooking my family up for years.

100% I've been looking at other ranches as well and already have a group of people interested in doing this same thing if you'd like to join.

Call your county 4h club. Most county fairs have a livestock auction going that have now been cancelled. The kids need to still get their animals sold and it’s a great way to support them. I’ve done it for years down in SD at the fair. Great meat and as local as you can get.

Our fair folks are still trying to figure out what to do to help the kids out but they’re working on it. At least start with the Club and go from there. Just a thought.

I've looked at BUNCH and this is the one I feel the best about. Although their prices just went up. And now taquerias are saying they're running out of meat... no meat at the restaurant supply store.

There's a couple others, but this one just does it all. I'm also going to have a lamb thrown in for good measure.
