I know nuthin' about Kalifornia gun or ammo laws......

For me...I load up the Taco truck....guns/ammo/targets......

Have 4 safe places to shoot with in 10 minutes of the house

Other than 22 LR ammo..hand loads are all I shoot

Utah is a very friendly gun owner state

I agree with your statement regarding diminishing rights in multiple states.
However, an individual could move to a less restrictive state and perhaps enjoy a few years of gun ownership. This may be an alternative for some (albeit very few are this into guns).

I hope we do see misguided gun laws repealed. I will not hold my breath for it.

For your next gun, check out the CZ-75. It is one of the most comfortable and accurate pistols on the market.

As a California gun owner the best thing you can do is the following:

    1. Learn to be safe and responsible
    2. Learn about the current state of the politics surrounding gun laws
    3. Make a difference by spreading the good word about the hobby and teach some newbies how to shoot.
    4. Don't politicize it. Once you bust out words like "libtard", "kommiefornia", and other nonsense cliches echoed by typical conservatives you've already lost. The right to bear arms is to be cherished by those on all sides of the political spectrum. It is not about left vs right, it is about the top vs the bottom and an appreciation for liberty and power to the little guy. Your discussion of the issue in social circles should reflect this.

    Welcome to CA!

As a gun collector, and resident to CA, I can say that you will find a secret cult living amongst everyone else here.

I suggest checking out social media to find local gun clubs you can shoot with.

I'm in Central CA, and if you're anywhere near, I'd be happy to lend you a hand with anything.

I can't comment on the ammo law, since I'm not too familiar with it other than you can't hand someone ammo, or receive it in person, since I reload all my own ammunition.

With that being said, there are a ton of places to shoot, whether it's short range with a handgun, or long range with a custom rifle; I've done it all and out to +2,500 yards.

I don't venture to this side of the forum, but if you'd like any advice, just tag me.

    Oh and FYI, join Calguns

    Thanks for the plug.

Always happy to steer someone in the right direction, especially with the legalities.

Yes....move someplace else!!! Seriously!!! Long time gun owner & competitive shooter. Nanny state regs make it impossible to enjoy your new hobby! If I were younger, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana would be my destination. But I've done made my last house move.....only way I'm leavin' now is feet first, face up!!

With all due respect I think this is wrong and pretty ignorant. If you can't enjoy shooting in California you must really not want to or you're flat out doing it wrong. There's more to it than just regs. California is a top 3 state for amount of land open to hunting and shooting and you can loaded open carry throughout it. Factor this in and I argue it's at least a top 10 or 20 state for recreational shooters. Sure there's better states out west like you say but I'd take CA over any southern, eastern, or midwestern state.

Not getting into a micturatin' match with you....you go on & carry on the banner. I done did my part of sending emails, organizing matches, tryin' to raise public awareness, writing senators & reps. I've vled 2nd amendment & hasn't made a bit of difference. Your facts maybe correct re: # of shooters, but the fact is there are more of them than us. Wrong & ignorant? I think you're falling into the tactics of our common enemy....using ad hominen attacks to marginalize your opposition's point of view. I would expect better of one who is a supporter of the Bill of Rights, esp the 2nd amendment. I'm outta here. Feel free to vilify me behind my back!
