Buying my first Tacoma! Need help deciding

I have been a truck owner for 25 years but I am about to buy my first Tacoma. I have been drooling over these trucks since they came out and I am so excited! But I have to make a choice really quickly and I hope I can get some feedback here.

My two toyota trucks have both been manual transmission. I have a choice between two preowned Tacomas with the same basic features that are in my price range. One is an 09 automatic trans with 10,000 miles for $20,000. The other is an 08 Prerunner with only 6000 miles on it, and has manual trans. It is $17,000.

Is the transmission responsible for the difference in price? Which one should I get? Any advice would be very much appreciated.

 

I doubt the tranny is responsible for the price difference, but just wondering, is the 09 4x4, or are they both prerunners. Also what packages do they both come with (ex. TRD sport, TRD off road, SR5, tow package, etc).
