    I want to buy a taco soon I have around 10k and I want a 4x4.

My question is should i stay away from trucks that already have around 120-140k miles? lookin for 01-04 body style. is there anything i should know when picking out the right truck? also should i stay away from trucks that already have a lift and bigger tires on them with over 100k?

I would appreciate the help. thanx

IMO, the lower miles clearly the better, but I'd also look for something that hasn't been modded much yet. You don't know the quality of work somebody else has done, plus takes all the fun out of modifying things yourself. For 9 or 10 thousand you should be able to find a pretty nice 01-04. Just look at the rear leaf springs (if original check for cracks) and check out the water pump age and condition.

yea, you could also check the plugs if the guy is nice and there is alot of miles, you really should be able to get under 100k miles for 10k

I bought mine with 146,000 miles in MINT condition for 8,000. It hasnt given me a problem yet. I say if it is really nice, dont worry too much about the miles.

if you can, carfax the truck too. you might want to look at the trucks with the fewest owners. vehicles with lots of owners worry me
