Ok so some of you may remember me buying new rims last spring, well apparently the clear coat is coming off them and discount tire is giving me half off another set, problem is they aren't really making the ones i have, or at least not releasing them for some reason (my guess, clear coat problem). So I've been looking at a set of Machined black American Outlaw Buckshot wheels. I've seen a guy with them on here.

Big question, for some reason discount tire is telling me that even though my rims and the ones I'm replacing them with are 20 inches, my tires wouldn't fit as they'd be " too tall" in thier words. I'm ok with this as I'm planning on selling them with my rims to a friend. So I'm thinking of getting a more aggressive tire, something of a mud tire thats not loud as I am just a road driver with no lift. I have the forth leaf as well and my last tires were 285/50r/20.

Wondering what tire to go with, and why my tire would be "too tall" on another rim that is also twenty inches.

the first pic is the buck shot rim I'm thinking of getting, the second pic is that rim on a taco, the third pic is how all my rims have started oxidizing and peeling, and the last pic is of my truck with the rims that I love that I now have to replace as repainting them would costmore than replacing them.

i have 20s also. i recently bought a set of 275/65R20 Wrangler SilentArmor and i have no problems. i rub on the little lip thing by the fog light on the passenger side (which i am about to shave it because it serves no purpose)

i have a 2.25" spacer lift for the front and an aal from toytec. no problems at all. pm me if you want to see pictures.

thanks for the input, this is the first thread that I put in that I didn't have guys jumping at the bit to respond to. I don't have a lift, and right now mine are 285/50r/20's would the silent armor's come in those specs you think, and should I expect these tires to put off a loud hum... I hear that comes with mud tires, I've never owned a set.

my mistake. i got 275/60R20s which are 32.99 tall x 10.83 wide and my rims are 8.5 inches wide. the size you have is 31.22x11.22. so the tires you are running aren't going to be too tall, i think they will be too wide. if you don't have any aftermarket uca's or any other mods.

there is a little hum but nothing like a grip. i used to own a ranger edge and had some 32 MTRs and them bad boys hummed loud!! if my windows were down and i was running on the highway, with my music turned all the way up i couldn't hear the radio. the silentarmor don't hum that loud but there is still some hum. i can hear them at about 60 to 65 mph.

if you go to goodyear's website you can see if the tires come in that size. i think they do because i was looking at getting a set of 285 but the size i wanted, i was going to need spacers and i don't have the mula for those yet.
