Im sure it does, atleast you could get some funds going for your experiences...I know my chic would lose her shit if I even thought about selling my ride after what I got into it. At the same time though, we both know mine is getting built for the long haul.

Still a few items left to get done...Rear install, big brake kit, and then the RTT project. The main shit is almost done though which is nice. It gets old planning my life around the next "mod."

I can understand that.... and since I've been in school and got this promotion at work, I have a LOT less time to just go out to the garage and turn a wrench (which is part of the reason I am debating on a WRX)

Yea man I feel bad for ya...what I have been modding on mine for the past two years you still have to do on yours. Its a long road, but has a good ending to it.

No way man, wrenching alone is why you might get rid of the taco? I mean you changed up a lot of stuff on it and broke in a lot of the bolts and critical items should it need maintenance now. I feel like you would lose out on all the benefits you put in the effort to achieve with it now.

Another WRX in the group would be cool, but I'd suggest just driving the truck to work 1-2 days a week. That way at least you'll feel like you're getting some use out of it and not throwing the payment away. It would bump your gas bill from the $20/wk you said you're spending now to probably $40-50/wk. That's a lot better than the $120/wk you said you were paying just driving the truck, and the truck wouldn't just be sitting which seems to be the main concern.

It actually costs me more to fill up my WRX than my truck because of the price difference between regular and premium. It's only like an extra $5 per tank, though.

ohhh noooooo haha that's not even close to the only reason...

    my MAIN reasoning is this:
I pay $350 a month for my Taco... I pay $0 for the Prius each month in car payment

I drive my Tacoma approximately 2 hours per MONTH (about 30 minutes per weekend on average)

I'm essentially paying $175 / hour to drive my truck.

The prius and Tacoma both have no creature comforts.... heated seats, sunroof, navi, etc...

my thought process is I can sell both, buy something nice, new, comfortable, and fun... and actually get my money's worth in car payments each month.... I'll end up buying a beater 4Runner or Jeep and having that as a trail rig that doesnt cost me anything in car payment each month. haha

I guess that makes sense...so it literally comes down to are you using the dollars spent on the car bill? To me, I would see how much the WRX costs at the end of the day. If I can have a beater DD and then a fun ride for the same price, then I would take that any day over just one vehicle as then I could work on my truck and not worry about being screwed if it was down for more than an afternoon.

That said, my eventual plan is to buy a cheap yaris in a year or two if I dip out of my apartment complex as those things are cheap, reliable to an extent, and get almost 40 mpg on the highway without the worry of having to replace the costly battery.

    @Me. Projekt

Here are my fuel stats for my truck and the wrx for this year. Your fuel costs for your truck will be higher of course because you've got the 1GR and auto, but it's more info to add to your research, especially the wrx fuel stats.

That's some good stats...I think I get like 14 right now...and hopefully it will stay around there after my regear.

    Don't forget I have the 4 cylinder.

Are you planning on getting the Hypertech speedo calibrator to adjust for the new tires/gears? http://www.hypertech-inc.com/vehicle-results.aspx?AAIAID=379004

I agree... those are solid stats... but I'm getting WAY less that that for fuel eco right now... we'll see....but at the end of the day, I also want the nicer car / car payment to be my daily and the paid off vehicle to be my off road rig so if I mess it up, who cares. haha

That's understandable. That's half the reason I'm willing to go nuts on the trail the way I do. It would suck to total it out, it's been paid off for nearly 6 years.

Never really thought about my actual speedo as right now I generally add 5 mph from whatever speed Im at about 50. I assume this only benefits the speedometer? Thanks for posting this.
