Buzzing/Humming noise from under bed

Hi TW,

Recently traded in my 2008 Taco of five years for a 2017 TRD Off-road. I walked into my garage to grab something and heard what sounded like a small air compressor running. Turns out it was coming from the truck, around where the spare tire is located. Pardon my green-ness but what is it? I never heard my 2008 making a similar noise, although maybe I wasn't walking in on it at the right now! Video/audio of the event linked below. Thanks.

Noise from under vehicle after turning off the engine

Approximately five hours after the engine is turned off, you may hear sound coming from under the
vehicle for several minutes. This is the sound of a fuel evaporation leakage check and it does not
indicate a malfunction.

Thank you for this.. I was out loading stuff in the bed for the morning and could hear a faint noise that I tracked down to under the bed. It's good to know both that I'm not delusional, and that it isn't a big deal.

 

This is a strange occurance to experience. My gf was leaving my house tonight and came back to tell me my truck was humming. It had been parked for hours. I went outside and heard the noise towards the front of the bed. I was going to crawl under the truck to find the planted bomb, but by the time I got back out, it had stopped. Glad I found this thread... good to know it's normal.
