I have a 2009 Tacoma and it is driving me crazy. I have the buzzing sound on the passenger side and I had the glove box out the door panel off and can not pin point the sound. I have followed the instructions for zip tying the wires together, putting foam everywhere taping wires you name it.The only thing for me to try next is to remove the very top of the dash. Does anyone have any pics or instructions. The front by the radio is a piece of cake to remove but I need to remove the very top. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys

Does this sound happen while driving or sitting still?

Sorry while driving slow around 1500 rpm. If it is under a load especially.

Outside under the passenger wiper blade make sure the two plastic cowl pieces are connected together properly.

Thanks tried that as well. I probably am leaning toward taking the top of the dash off. Thought to find those instructions or videos anywhere. Thank you

Take the intake hose and fender mount off and try it. There was a tsb on a buzz like this. Sounded right in the dash.

I put some foam between fender mount and fender but it was still buzzing. I'll try to take it off completely. Is it ok to run it without the intake hose assembly and fender mount? I don't want to set any engine codes. Thanks for your help.

The 6 cyl mas sensor is in the intake plenum. Just leave the air filter ass on and take the hose and mount off. I'm not saying this is it but this did catch a couple of guys. Lots of dash work for nothing.
Also, check the ac tube mounts. Make sure they don't touch each other. Nice and tight in the clips. These will buzz about 1500 to 2000 rpm also. Take everything out of the glove box. Check the cowl for anything inside. Cridders like leaving things. Start outside and work towards the area. Sounds travel. Some of hardest things to fix are rattles, squeaks and buzzes...

I pulled the intake hose and tube off, drove the truck still making buzzing sound. I also checked AC tube mounts and made sure they are not touching each other. It still seems like it comes from under the dash a little left of the passenger vent by the window. I took glove box out tried reaching up top but couldn't find anything. I would like to take the top of the dash off but can find any vids or instructions. Thank you for all the suggestions I appreciate you trying to help.

It's just loose plastic hitting together at an audible frequency. Mine does it too, but at 1500 under load there's more than just a buzz it a lower pitched rattle. I get the buzzing around 2500 right before I shift. I have a first gen and I just deal with it.

Not saying this is it, but I recall someone on here having a rattle in the center of the dash, by the defrost vents. Ended up being some clips that weren't attached, so the dash around the vent rattled.

Is Prius made by BMW now or did that sound better in your head?

Sounded better in my head should be, If you wanted a quieter toyota shoulda gotten a prius. I was just thinking BMW cause my dad has one and theyre smooth and Prius because theyre hybrid.
