Mine is very noticeable. The service manager drove mine and agreed it would bug him as well. He contacted the field rep and opened up a case himself for me.

This RPM vibration issue isn't terrible in my truck. I definitely have it, but its bearable. What isn't is all of the other shit buzzing or vibrating in the truck.

My brake pedal buzzes like a cell phone going off every second press of the pedal. This is "normal". It's a "brake accumulator" doing its job.

I'm just tired of taking it into the shop. I'm tired of getting pissed off every other time I drive the truck. It howls at high speeds. It rumblestrips to a stop. The brake pedal buzzes almost every time I touch it. It randomly clunks or slams.

It's a brand new Toyota vehicle. It's a Tacoma. It's flagship truck. The service manager at the dealership has been great but this is total bullshit by corporate not getting TSBs out for this thing.

So I test drove a new 2016 DCSB OR M/T today again, and for an extended period of time including highway. Steering wheel vibration is definitely there, most pronounced in 6th gear just above 2k rpm, and disappears by 2400 rpm. With a manual it would not be too hard to avoid that rpm range. It's also noticeable in 3rd, when driving between 30-35 mph, but somehow less so. I could not detect vibration in the gas pedal or floor board.

Previously I gave up on buying Tacoma and was going to buy a toy car, but plans changed again and I really could use a pickup and don't really see a better alternative. As much as I hate buying a vehicle with an obvious and unacknowledged fault, I am considering it again. My fear is that it can be worse, or become worse with time as people have reported here.

The solution really should be simple, either new softer motor mounts and/or exhaust flex sections right behind the integrated exhaust manifold. It's so strange it does not have any, many cars I had/worked on have flex sections between engine and the nearest exhaust bracket.

All manuals are built in Texas I believe. Mine was. I know for sure all manual DCSB's are.

Correct, the one I drove today has VIN starting with 5, so Texas. We have established it already the buzzying is not plant dependent, but "normal characteristics" more or less present in all these trucks.

Ah yes, I forgot they designed it to vibrate when under power.

Just looked at a 17 TRD Pro [did not drive]. Says it comes with "TRD Exhaust" wonder if anyone has driven one yet. Great looking truck in Cement. Sticker was almost 45k. Wonder how this exhaust feels. It is a dual exhaust MagnaFlow.

Is this for all 2016 Taco's? I havent seen any mention of the 17's in this thread. Considering a 17' 4x4 MT Offroad, in for trouble?

My 17 has the vibration people complain about. It may be just me, but it isn't severe at all and doesn't bother me. Also, it is not a broken or malfunctioning part in my opinion, rather just (what some may call) a poor choice in material used for mounting hardware in the engine, trans, and exhaust.

There are many trucks out there that I drove where I could feel the vibes but it was more than tolerable.....they gave me an SR5 for a day while they tested my Ltd and if my truck had the minor vibes that one had, I could have easily lived with it.....I doubt my hands and arms would have gone to sleep driving that SR5 any distance. I still would've hoped for a fix, tho....

My TRD OR has some vibes in the floorboard and sometimes the gas pedal at the 1800-2000 rpm range, but is very mild and doesn't really bother me that much. I guess mine isn't like what many of you are experiencing. I hope they get it resolved quickly, I can see how it could be annoying.

Only big concern I have left,,other than the fact I wonder if the trans is going to hold up long term.

Get BAMF or another fabrication shop to make motor mounts and replace exhaust with flow master.

Where are the motor mounts located? Can someone post up a pic or something? My vibration when braking and cruising between 30-20 mph was corrected with the new leaf spring kit Toyota put out. They put a steering damper for the wheel vibration/buzzing feel but it did nothing for it.

Wow, hearing all of this (and I've not even read through all 109 pages!!!) I'm glad I'm leasing.

I'm in a 2016 Limited 4x4 short bed, and so far I get the slight buzzing at low RPMs. No clunking yet, but the trans does sometimes seem a bit off in terms of behavior.

That said, I'm taking her back sometime this week to get some dealer accessories installed, and have the following items to also be addressed (based on searching here):
So far in my email to the sales rep:
-Check that the Transmission fluid is topped off (lots of reports of underfills from the factory)
-The shift knob twists left and right when shifting into gear. Perhaps the fix is as simple as some loctight on the knobs threads?
-I noticed the front license plate holder was in the back of the truck bed. Wanted to make sure this was on the list of install items.
-Looks like several TSBs were issues for the 6-speed auto in these trucks. Can you please confirm with service the ECU and Trans are up to date on software?

Anything else to ask about? On my to do list is look more into this "howl" everyone is talking about, as I do get some odd noise at speed. I'm still researching issues, but I want to raise as many concerns as possible, before I fill out the various customer service surveys I'm about to be bombarded with.

And yes, I'd be fine with installing the front plate holder if it was my own truck, but since it's a lease, I want that to be a project someone else does (and if they screw up drilling a few holes it's on the service dept, not me):)

Sad thing is, my plan was to lease-to-own (not ideal, but long-story-short, I had to get out of my 2009 VW GTI while it was still worth a decent trade and before something expensive broke). A shame to think in 3 years it sounds like there's a real chance I could be ending the lease because it's turned into a POS :(

Maybe I should have kept the VW....
