I was out of town the last few days for my grandmother's memorial service. A hell of a woman. We had a great time with family getting together, telling funny stories, and drinking Grandma's favorite drink - 7 & 7.

I got to follow the thread, but wasn't participating much. Got some pictures texted to me from Maner, too. I hated not being out there to help with the work, but can't thank Maner enough for making this pit how he chose to spend his shop time. You're a good man, @Bigdaddy4760 . We'll get schedules coordinated for me to head back out there to put in some more work.

Damn, that looks great! I'm ready to get out there and start grinding and polishing. It'll look sharp when all said and done.

Plan is to get everything red-lined, put together a plan of attack, then get a few of these smokers knocked out. If you're interested in one, we'll get something put together and work out a good deal for you. This one will have some modifications that aren't planned for the "production" units, but can be done as add-ons if you desire. I don't think either of us really 'own' this project, but I'm keenly aware of the value of Maner's shop, expertise, tools, labor, and all. I'm out there because a lot of stuff requires an extra hand, to knock out a lot of the work outside of the welding to move it along, and to get under the hood when Maner takes a break from welding.

We oughta get a logo designed for that. Those would make great shirts!

I hope so! I think we have a good plan and are making some really nice tweaks and upgrades along the way.

Okay, maybe patches instead of shirts. I think we need a design for Big Daddy's shop, then get a round of patches made for a group-buy. Who's taking on the project?!?!!?

Got the garage cleaned out this morning so I came up to shop and worked a little.
Look all the tubing is cleaned up and gone from end of table

That’s cause I got the rest of the doors framed up and welded out.

I did a little smoker building myself. Well, finished out one that I had mostly built already and had powder coated. Put the firebasket together over at Maner's last week - I kept interrupting other welding with it .

This is the same keg smoker I do every year for the Texas Wesleyan University golf program - they have a golf tournament every year to raise money for the program. This year I did a gold plate on the front to celebrate them winning the NAIA National title this year. It turned out great! Stella gets partial credit for helping with the build, too, so she had to pose with it ;).

Got a small bow in the door after welding it out. Going to fix the bow and get it mounted to cooker today.

    Looking great!

We gotta measure out where the thermos can mount. I'll pick up another coupling.

For sure. This will work nicely. Get it mounted, then we can get the holes lined up perfectly between the racks.
