If you're having grill problems, I feel bad for you
son. I got 99 problems but a future sentient skynet controlled pit ain't one.

    Update!!!!

First off, it was great to see Maner again after his knee surgery. I told him there are a few people on here that'd kick my ass if he hurt himself working on my smoker.

We put about 5 hours in to it today and made some really nice progress. The big accomplishment was getting the front skin finished with the temp controller recess fitted in.

We built an 8" x 8" x 3-3/4" box that we fit to the frame.

We then cut a like sized square out of the front skin, then tacked everything in place.

Zach, you'll notice on the channel for the probes to pay through that we flushed the side that had the threads. We ultimately decided it would make for an easier install and look cleaner. I'll plug it from the inside when not in use.

It was awesome seeing that in place. Really helps finish out the front.

We also built the doors for the side and the top. Frames were together, but we added insulation and skins. Those are now ready to be mounted next time we get at it. I didn't get pictures of the finished doors, but I did get one of my welds to show @Kanyon71 ;)

I’d be one of those in line. :)

hey your welding is getting better man. Still looks like a drunk, blind, half mental monkey did them. Having said that still better than I could do now.

Coming along nicely. Can’t wait too see it all done.

Shit, you couldn't lay a seam that pretty with a bottle of Elmer's glue ;).

We're both anxious to get it done and fired up. Hopefully another day of work on it this week.

Maner is taking it easy on the knee. ;)

Maner has helped get the equipment dialed in and has offered plenty of tips. The rest has just been getting some time under the hood. This has been a hell of a lot of fun. We have plans for more builds when this one is done.

It was fun as usual. We really don’t lack a lot of fabbing. Then the painting prep starts.
Send me the info on the fan deal curious as to how it mounts.
