I agree, gotta be able to camp.. and pass out. Uncertain on the whole camping thing, I am kind of working on assumptions. I have a name and number for MOROC but I am waiting till a little later in the morning before I call.

Hmm, 15 posts later.. looks like no one is going to be playing with Andy's and Jason's pistols... No shock there, right? :p

    OK, VERY INTERESTING

odd.. but interesting. I spoke with the MOROC coordinator.. FYI MOROC used to be from Missouri Off Roading o.somthing Competition and now it is just for "Extreme Offroding Competition". They are trying to grow the Texas market.. There is 31 teams that will be camping at BVORR. the course is right there in the front by the clubhouse.

He has no problems with us doing our own thing, and doesn't expect people/spectators int he back forty because Steve doesn't want anyone back there without a Guide. you know Steve... also.. They are "short Staffed" for the event. He asked me if we were interested in being "Guides" for the back 40.... he also said he was short staffed, and we could help out (not sure what to expect here). if we were helping out though, he had no problem with us camping there/wheeling etc.

Personally.. I have NEVER done the back 40..... who has, and is anyone interested in showing strangers the trails?

I've never been back there either, I think that Drew & Randy have. I wouldn't mind "helping out" a little if there was something in it for us. At least we would be able to camp!

like the last 2 times I have been, it was raining & Wet.. so the "back 40" was closed off. It is actually where everything is.. it is a lot of climbs, and hills. Steve doesn't like anyone going back there that has never been. so, we would basically be showing everyone where it is, and guiding them on the trails for permission to camp there.. MOROC paid for the entire place, so.. we wouldn't have to pay anything. sounds worth it to me seeing as how we will be back there anyways.. we just get to show some others around. Maybe see them do some crazy things. :)

Even though I know where "The Back 40" is, I've never actually been back there.

So, I'm not sure if any of us are qualified to be guides back there.

Ah.. I thought you had been around back there. Fair enough, so no go?

Probably not. I can guide you through the rest of the back section of the Park, and would be comfortable taking our group back there. Not really anyone else though.

Undertstood.. well.. I like the idea of camping with them, and doing some of our own wheeling. but if you open the doors to guiding, there is no telling how big a group of newbies you might be taking or even.. how many OLD f100 Hunting trucks you have to pull out of the holes... LOL

I am going to let the MOROC guy know what we are capable of and see what he says. He seems cool, he will probably welcome our limited help anyways.

    STRAIGHT FROM MODOC:

The trail guiding isnt for the racers...its for the spectators. 33's would be fine to show off the park. Great promotion for the park and the club.

I need trail guides and judges. If your group is interested in judging too that would be great...but Im sure they'd rather just wheel. Up to all of you though. Either way...come on up and have a great time!
