Yea....mine didn't work. In fact, when I plugged it in, the radio would work intermittently. (Sound...no sound...sound....no sound...etc) Thats about it, tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, same result. I called metra directly and he kinda laughed and said the reason they are $9.99 from techforless.com is because they are discontinued models and didn't offer any advice at all. I have a 2007 ext cab, 6 spd, 4x4 with the non jbl system, single disc player. ANY IDEAS TW???

The only advice i could give you is just keep trying it. Mine didnt work for the first day when i tried to install it, then magically the next day it worked. Just keep checking all your connections. Not sure if this will help

My brother and I used one an a trip from TX out to Moab and it worked just fine. Pros-inexpensive and reliable Cons-wires exposed. If I had a tape player I would use one, but I dont....and I hate exposed wires.

Sounds like a POS. Guess you get what you pay for. If your really short on cash, you might get this to work. There are far better options out there.

I am about to order this for my little cousin to put in her 05 Camry, I haven't yet but reading through this at most have had good luck with this product.

this worries me A LOT, but I am still willing to give it a try. As prior to the questions of charging, I am hearing that some iPods charge and other don't due to the gen. it is. She has a 32g iPod Touch (will tell her to install Jailbreak), I do not know what gen this is (doubting she will either), anyone know if this will charge a 32g iPod Touch? I don't want to get this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/iPod-iPhone-3GS...er_MP3_Player_Accessories&hash=item3a602e6a0a

and not even need it (I don't have an iPod and don't want to bother with having to try to sell that off).

I was gonna install mine today and I noticed that on the female connector on the t-harness, inside one of the little connectors was bent:( this might be the problem with the ones that are not working. I kinda straightened mine out with sme tweezers, hopefully it works! I can't add pics cause I don't know how on my phone

Just installed mine last night. Took 30 mins to install and it works great with my iPhone 4. Made a 12 hour drive to CO from CA today and it made the drive MUCH easier. Thanks for the info everyone, best $10 investment ever.

I installed mine today. Went in without any issues and works just fine. My only gripe is that I have to use the controls on my stereo instead of the iPod. I am still on the fence about jailbreaking my touch so I can find the music I want.

Overall I would say that it was $15 well spent!

Got mine and installed it in <10 minutes! Woo hoo
    It works great too!
    Great sound quality
    charges my ipod

I was confused at first because I was trying to select
the music on the ipod but that screen wouldn't go away,
then I realized, the music was playing, and I just had to
    select using the disc controls.
    What a great buy

    Application:
    -I'm using a 2nd gen Nano
-07 DC, non JBL, 6 CD changer.

No it does not charge my touch, but it does sound crystal clear. Right now, the charging is not really a bid deal to me. My old Monster FM adapter did not charge it either. I may order up one of these though. The most annoying part is not being able to easily navigate through my music to find what I want to listen to.

Keep us updated on the adapter. I'm thinking of picking one up but not being able to charge is a deal breaker.

just installed and works great on my iphone4 32gb. not jailbroken yet but wheel and dash controls work perfect for moving through playlists and songs

paid 30 bucks to ship to canada though, still way cheaper than anything else locally.

I just installed this adapter in my truck yesterday. It sounds great. Very easy install. However it does not charge my 5th gen nano. Kinda disappointed.

Also, how the hell do you use it? I can't really figure out what buttons do what. If I hold the next button on my steering wheel, it seems to just change to a random selection of music. It will take me to two of my playlists but not all of them. It doesnt seem to really navigate through my ipod in any sort of consistent sequence.

So i ordered a Scosche charging adapter that should solve the charging issue.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of how to use the ipod through my controls. Not exactly straight forward though. Oh well. For less than $15 shipped, I can deal. The charging adapter cost me $18 from Amazon though.
